thx for those comparison, for sure the sony capture more sounds, like my canon M730I outdoor that takes all the wind etc noises I'm at the moment trying to find out which one to buy as tapes are getting hard to find and very expensive and digital has a clearer video

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video! After getting a GoPro to replace a JVC Everio camcorder, it made me want to go back to the handheld form factor even more It's nice to see there are still people out there using them! One question I have is for these camcirders, do you ever miss having a viewfinder rather than solely using the screen? That's one thing I didn't like about the JVC which didn't have one, and there were times where the screen got closed accidentally thus stopping the recording Are the Panasonics like that too?

As a blind person I occasionally have to take video as I belong to a global virtual choir, and this sounds like just the thing Hand it to a helper, they open it up and press record (with a mic plugged in of course) and it's done with no hassles — and I wouldn't have to hand over my phone Awesome

In that case, is the X1500/X2000/CX10 worth it for all the manual options but bulkier build if you just use for document your life, zoom in for further details and YouTube since some say the auto is good enough? The build in ND is nice tho, are those midrange with a bit of manual better? But 4K 60fps only on these models, the full HD model can zoom further tho but there is tele, ultrawide and macro adaptor for these models Will there be successors to these models in the coming CES 2024?

Thanks Already have a Vixia R40 so the Sony isnt too appealing but the 981 looks great for something 4K with IS I like the ability to get some shallow DOF as I mainly shoot video portraits Do you have a link to that ND filter you were using on it? Thanks

I just found a CX405 one of my neighbors was giving away while I was out on a run Ibr have a ton of higher end gear but this lil guy is fun and I really like it! brWe're going to the "When We Were Young" music festival in Vegas this weekend, I'm excited to bring this and have a total DAD camcorder at the festival that is meant to remind those of us getting older of the golden days of the early 2000s brDo you know about the Hidden battery compartment?? It makes this lil guy even more practical for travel!

I'm struggling between buying the Sony CX405 or the Canon R800 I'm buying it mostly to film dog sports My partner has to stay out of the arena while I'm competing with my dog So I was wanting to buy something that's easy for him to shoot with while I can edit the settings on the recorder Image stabilization/good zoom is the biggest priority for me The camera needs to be able to keep up with the moving dog while also staying smooth for the most part (I'll use a tripod when possible) Anyone experienced with action scenes that are zoomed in and what recorder to recommend?

I have this Panasonic camera for years, and film concerts with it I usually use the tele setting because I have a better overview and the sound is also better from a distance This camera is so good that I haven't been able to find a better one yet Unobtrusive and stable, that's important It is often a gray area, but usually filming a concert is not a problem The camera is super sharp even at the extreme tele setting I first used a Rode external microphone until I forgot about it and had to record the sound with the camera microphone To my surprise, this mic was better than the Rode mic Now I stand out even less Unfortunately it is no longer for sale and second hand I do not see it either

I did not see anything about it online or in the manual Some goofy things are occurring in the menu: for example, not finding things like factory reset for one What is demo mode? Hi Markus, I love your videos, and I've watched SO many! I'm thinking of getting the Panasonic 981k that you recomend, but I have a question Is the lens diameter 40mm or less? From one side of the front lens glass to the other does it come in at under 40mm I would like it to be 40mms or less Thanks! ;) Oh, the reason is for a lens adapter I want to use I think I saw the filter adapter is 49mm, I just need the lens glass to be under 40mm ;)

The Panasonic WXF1K with EVF is an awesome camcorder for about $1,000 The wide angle is equal to 25mm in a 35mm camera I know a guy who is in my bird watching group He uses it for shooting real estate videos It works quite well for this He likes it better than a DSLR like the Canon Rebel T8i, that he shoots stills with I have also seen some bird watching footage shot with this, which is also impressive, even if he shoots at the equivalent of 600mm For the price, pretty hard to beat The ELV is a must for bird watching

I thought in the locations with no white balance, these camcorders did worse than a quality smartphone I have a pixel 3 I purchased used for $140 The places these camcorders really shined compared to a cheap phone, was in low light What do you guys think
