For the money hands-down these are a great deal And yes it's mainly because that TOP and you're getting an F-style (w/a solid top) for under $400 Really?! I could never see myself buying an A-style anyway LOL!brI'm a pro tech/repair/luthier shop and I couldn't pass up the deal to try it out I did a mild fret dressing (hardly no real leveling was required) and this thing plays better than I would've expected If I didn't know what it was, and it came into my shop for work, I would've estimated its cost at or over $500 Intonates very well and super low action without any fret leveling yet Remarkable because almost EVERY cheap mandolin needs a couple/few frets leveled for great actionbrbrThe endpins on most of these suck They don't fit well You CAN modify that for a modern strap button delOR/del take it to your local repair shop and have the endpin replaced They're cheap and any repair tech can sand a larger one down for a better friction fitbrbrMy only real #1 complaint is that I Waaaaaay would've preferred a nice high-gloss finish on this The satin kind of makes it look a bit cheap SOME mandolins look ok like that, primarily if they're lighter, but these dark finished look cheap in satin on these LoarsbrbrIf I keep enjoying this as much as I am now, it may be worth replacing the tailpiece w/an Ashton Bailey style It's probably worth putting a few more $$$ into because it really plays and sounds like something worth more, and I've worked on some very expensive mandolins I'm impressed and glad I decided to give it a shotbrbrJSV Comment from : JSV |

This video helped me decide to buy one of these cheap loars Because I'm a guitarist you know Does it sound as well as a $1000 + mandolin?
