We keep both a Schwab and a Fidelity account Both companies cover any fees on ATM use I carry one card the wife carries the other, just in case one is lost or stolen we have the other one If a card gets stolen/lost it gets canceled so it will be out of commission till a new card is issued and finds you We never have local currency upon arrival, we go straight to an airport ATM as soon as we clear customs All of our credit cards are no foreign transaction fee cards Again two different cards I carry one (actually 2 cards), wife carries the other We always carry two very new and crisp $100 bills, just in case And only use debit at the ATM None of our credit cards have an annual fee, but we are wondering if we should get an airline credit card or a Marriott card I'm not a points person, but we know people who do everything around points/miles (hotel and airlines) I don't think it's worth the hassle of managing miles and hotel pointsbrTravelers checks?
