One of the rare videos from CNBC Make It that I did not really like - I dont know if I missed this but there was no conversation on how much she pays on rent, health insurance and other such basic necessities Rent makes up for more than 50 of the wage for most new york city residents and so this video seemed tad incomplete without the mention of how much $$ is spent on those If I lived in my parents house that was paid for already, a $37,000 compensation would lead to a very different lifestyle than me paying for rent in Manhattan/ Brooklyn with the same compensation

I spend $250 del$300 on grocery for the whole month for 3 good meals a day, makes my own quality coffee/del order beans from intelligentsia, all this living in NYC I just can’t understand people who spends $200+ a week on take out You can definitely live and survive in NYC making her salary or even less, I’ve made less in my 20’s living by myself, but I didn’t care about living in Manhattan or popular hip neighborhoods, who cares, you can take the train to those areas, instead renting an apartment in a chill neighborhood in Brooklyn, making my own meals, not splurging on alcohol, looking for fun and free things to do, which are plenty in nyc you just gotta be wise about your budget, you’re going to be poor and struggling living anywhere if you’re buying things out of your means, like youre struggling to pay your rent but you’re walking around wearing expensive clothes and shoes
