kannada and tamil both are dravid language, I think it only takes me (Kannadiga) merely 15 days if I am in Tamilandu or with Tamilian group as most of the verbs are similar But it is difficult read and write Tamil as it have less consonants and not so easy as Kannada script Kannada script is beautiful than Tamil script
