I'm amazed credit cards offer free cash advances The reason why they charge for cash is because they stiff merchants when you buy things, but that doesn't happen when they give you cash Comment from : Craig Ross |

I withdrawal cash from my halifax clarity card I got charged 19 percent on 21,000 baht It works out to be $49838 Am I doing it wrong? Did I withdrawal too much? |
Wayne, i agree with the belt and braces approach, always have a few cards, for me it's Starling Bank for my travels, some of the places i visit it's pretty much cash only, Starling charges no ATM fees you just pay the unavoidable mastercard charge which is buttons Nice vlog, cheers Comment from : thaibillyboy |
Klaus Schwab? 😳 Comment from : wils pu |

Hats of to you Wayne for giving newbies and not so newbies information on how to get and change 💰 money that's very nice 👍 it's sad that certain volgers are advertising online information consultant feed for information bone person was charging like 100 USD for a hour one on one and the information was not that hard to find out I'm appalled the world has come to this especially when people are not content on helping without making money keep up the good work Wayne it's far more rewarding getting respect from people for helping than trying to line your pockets with gold Comment from : Joel Monkley |

Banks in Thailand, you can use the app to pay If you withdraw money from an ATM, there is no fee If the same bank or other banks can use 4 times per month and not a cross-regional bank including transfers in the same bank through an ATMbrbrIf using the application, even if transferring or paying for goods or services from different banks, there is no free brbrAnd now it's more convenient Just use the application to scan the QR Code and you can withdraw money without using an ATM cardbrbrThailand is now one of the most used payment apps in the world Comment from : สุทธิศักดิ์ มธุรพงศากุล |

I've never used a CC in Thailand other than booking hotels on Agoda, including my AX When I travel, I'll take a bank debit card plus the Charles Schwab card I keep the latter in my wallet, and secure the other card just in-case of a mishap Not keen on bringing cash other than to cover myself for a couple of days All good and I don't see the sense of going to a bank and wasting time If your British, I advise exchanging to USD GBP will be taking a huge hit in foreseeable future Comment from : Siam I Am |
Do you get better exchange rates for higher bills? Like 50s and 100s USD? Comment from : lydia carter |

Really useful stuff, Wayne I've finally landed in the Kingdom I'm jet lagged to buggery but happy to be here I've heard Starling card works in the same way your credit card scenario does I'm really hoping it does Maybe see you in Chiang Mai one day, take it easy man 👍 Comment from : TheColossalBlanket |

even if you use a credit card with foreign exchange fee, the points you earn is huge if you're charging your entire living monthly budget on it The sum of the fees could easily fly business class back home several times in a year, on points, at a fraction of a single economy class ticket Comment from : Flighteye |
Take the credit card into a bank never thought of that I guess I 've never been in Thailand more than ten days at a time so I usually just change MYR into THB before I leave I seem to get better rates here than in Thailand, too I use the card to pay for things when I can and use cash for most things I wonder if taking the card into a bank would work in Japan hmm Comment from : iskandartaib |
The best US option is the Charles Schwab "Schwab One Brokerage debit card" (it's not a credit card) You can use your debit card in any ATM in the world to pull out cash, and at the end of the month, you receive a credit for any ATM fees on your card So I didn't need to pull out much money each time, which I liked for safety I never had go into a bank or use a currency exchange booth; as soon as I arrived in each new country, I just got money out of the first ATM I saw Comment from : Late Bloomer Abroad |

So to clarify: brbrYou go into a Thai bank and ask to withdraw cash via your UK issued CREDIT (not debit) card, meaning they're effectively using a point of sale machine as if it were a normal transaction/purchase, when in reality you're basically getting cash back?brbrAnd because your UK issued credit card doesn't charge any fees (such as international charges), you pay practically a 1:1 conversion at the bank's exchange rate, which is presumably pretty decentbrbrAnd because you pay it off virtually instantly, there's no interest fee on the UK cardbrbrI have a Halifax Clarity Card toobrbrWhich Thai banks do this? All of them? br brThanks Comment from : 137dylan |

Great video sir, I keep learning a lot and it’s going to help me when I come to Thailand! Take care and stay healthy Comment from : Bob |

This is something i have yet to get sorted on a permanent monthly basis and Transferwise looks to be a good option Opening a Thai bank account seems to be a bit of a hassle though I hear you mention Bangkok Bank They are supposed to be the "farang friendly" one when it comes to all the requirements that are needed when opening an account is that right? Thanks for the advice as always Wayne 👍🙏 Comment from : Stuart mearns |
