I think the retirement crisis will get even worse A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either Comment from : @Tomnolan90 |
|
I’m 21 and me and my wife have a positive net worth around 100K and a combined income of around 80K which will go up when we finish our degree’s We are determined to reach retirement by 35! Comment from : @commonsense5555 |

I’m 20 and I am planning to pretty much put 90+ of what I earn until I’m 30brbrI will be joining the military which means my expenses will be very minimalbrbrWhat really motivates me is knowing that with even a pretty average salary of my career choice (£37K annually),brbrIf I aggressively save and live frugally for 10 years I will have the ability to either keep going and guaranteed become a millionaire in my 30’s brbror I could just literally (semi) retire in my 30‘s-40’s with a spacious £400-700K detached house and luxury car and live off dividends and maybe a part time job brbrdespite all the doom and gloom of working class society financial freedom and truly making it is possible with hard work, know-how and it can be as simple as sticking everything into index fundsbrbrThat is why I love investing Comment from : @fot6771 |

According to the New York Times, the average savings of a couple reaching retirement is $110k I’m closing in on my retirement and I’m under pressure to grow my reserve of $330k, despite the fact the capital gains you can make on growth stocks far outweigh dividend yields, and even in downtrends folks still pull off 6-7figures gains in months surely the risk is much greater, but I’d love to know how Comment from : @StaceHoffman |

What if someone dies before 35, all these plans of cutting your purchases and not enjoying life fully due to limitations would be sad, but at the same time who doesn’t want to enjoy life after 50ties without doing to much cause of savings and good investments It’s though but we’ll just have faith Comment from : @GabssSA88 |

If you're just starting out and want to go to college, Pell grants can be DOUBLE what community college costs; I got my bachelors at Community College! I'm in an MBA program that is far cheaper than any other, but you won't learn that much here; in theory it makes it easier for a job to hire you at a higher salary if they already want to hire you and they know you and you have a specialty that works for them (but still, you don't really learn that much and they have to want to hire you anyway)brbrMy suggestion to new parents is to give their newborn a "job" (air quotes, car dealership owners can certainly make them spokes persons) so you can put at least a measly $2 in their Roth IRA a week ($2 a week from 0 to 70 at 10 interest is a million bucks) If you can't give them $2 a week, you can't afford to have kids (people would say that to someone considering buying a puppy)brbrBiggest challenge when I was a teen was a car, you want a car so you can make it that much easier to get women; but now days teens just call an uber (people on dates probably look down on the guy who has to drive them to make a living) If you live at home, don't tell women you date (nunya!) and if you move out don't waste money on high rents Comment from : @Billionaireben |
|
okay but what about 2-7 year olds Comment from : @pacobracken9407 |
|
I’m a financial advisor and personally I would advise against IRAs because you may not live that long 401ks are a better option because at least you can get an employer match Comment from : @CoHawk73 |

When you say income saved up - do you mean in a high yield savings, overall portfolio or in a 401k/roth? I want to invest but if I put the majority of my savings in 401k or ira I can't access those for a down payment on a house, but if I keep it in a hysa it's not generating maximum savings What should i do? Comment from : @luketannenbaum3172 |
|

The retirement fund that my husband and I have built up is doing quite nicely The majority of the money, which averaged roughly $2 million, was made by taking advantage of the opportunity to purchase luxury stocks at a significant discount during the Great Recession 2009 saw my stockbroker fired, all of my mutual funds liquidated, and I purchase individual dividend stocks You can succeed if you are patient, don't panic, and do your homework Comment from : @AmFaucher255 |

I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet That mindset helped me make more money investing For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million Comment from : @alexanderdonald9167 |
