Really enjoying your vids! You are always so positive and affirming of all the places you visit!! If you visit the North again, might I suggest visiting Bamburgh Castle and Seahouses and the wonderful Lindisfarne Island (Holy Island) with its beautiful views and rich history? Can highly recommend! Thankyou again for making such upbeat and fun vids, they are very inspiring!! 😊 Comment from : H A |

my home town so glad you enjoyed it but you need to visit the shops and a place called wagamama in eldon square omg delish it's Japanese good but it's lovely and very warm If you want to see the real Newcastle you should get on the metro and have a look around other places other than Newcastle it's not great and probably like the sub way but it's ok I'm glad you enjoyed Newcastle Nufc ⚽ you should come to Durham as well if you like architecture too Comment from : Sophie Foster |

Just love your channel and your enthusiasm for the history of the UK as a whole I have been to Newcastle a couple of times I live in Telford now which is in the West Midlands between Birmingham and Shrewsbury Although Telford is a new town created by merging villages back in the 1960's there is still a lot of history in the surrounding areas The famous Ironbridge is a world heritage site nearby to Telford which is definitely worth a visit as they have created a Victorian town there where you can experience what it was like to live in those times Another town not far from Telford is the beautiful historic market town of Much Wenlock which held there own Olympics in the Victorian era About 14 miles away from Telford is the town of Bridgnorth which has a lot of history from the English Civil War the castle ruins in Bridgnorth are still there to this day Beautiful views from Bridgnorth High Town of the nearby river below There is a cliff railway there also linking High Town to Low Town or you can use the steps There is also a steam railway that operates today between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster Thanks for your video of your visit to Newcastle Comment from : Ednam Mansfield |

The Tyne Bridge was built during the Depression of the 1920s, at this time the government was worried that shipbuilding skills would be lost, hence the bridge was built with such shipbuilding methods of n the 1920s hence all the rivets As regards the M&S note it say admission free, in the early Victorian era shop would charge 1pence admission Comment from : John Hignett |

The appeal of Newcastle as a tourist destination can be a bit puzzling to those from or near there There are other places in the UK (often in the south of the UK) with older pubs (not so many with more pubs and bars, perhaps), places with far more historical museums But, of the northern English industrial cities, Newcastle feels, to me, by far the most complete for a tourist I wouldn't have as near as good a time as a visitor in Leeds, Liverpool, nor certainly Sheffield, nor in Manchester Newcastle's real charm is it often has pretty wide, essentially pedestrianised, streets that are often easy on the eye, it's pretty easy to have a nice drink, take in a theatre show, and the atmosphere of the place is often just nicely quietly jolly (although some might wonder if Newcastle has any 'real' Geordies left there - you won't see many beer bellies here at all This is a cosmopolitan place through and through) The quality of food's good It's ideal for a visit by train Comment from : Paul Wilde |
|
Grew up there and this shows me why I upped sticks and moved away when I was 17 I know it is now well thought of but, when you have so many nice places like Chipping Norton, Stow on the Wold, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Bristol, Canterburyall places I love, this take m back to growing up Sorry guys, not really a fan of this city Comment from : Jim Walsh |
|
