I don't think it'll replace rimfire cause you need a scuba tank compressor to fire your $2k+ air rifle $500 will get you a pretty accurate at 200 yds 22lr and several thousand rounds SO for me personally, I don't think so I'd love to play with it, but the 22lr is still my #1 shtf varmint/ feed my family gun

There's an air gun between 50 and 86 Caliber that shoots 700 to 850 feet per second There's two different projectile weights also And silencers that you don't need to pay the stamp for because bb guns aren't guns

It will never replace the 22 Rifle because of convenience You need a big tank and compressor to charge one tank to charge the small tank You can buy a pump up rifle that will shoot a 177 pellet faster than the speed of sound, and need nothing but a gun and pellets I don't know if they make a 22 pellet rifle that will do this But they make pump up 22 rifles that shoot very fast What could be better and cheap A 22 is also easy to use just buy cheap bullets and cheap gun and shoot No pump up or tank Tank Air rifles Looks like an expensive way to shoot to me They used air rifles for assignation in the French Revolution Co2 pellet rifles are nice too

Every PCP manufacturer has a particular pellet or slug that shoots the best out a certain barrel The 22 happens to be the caliber with the most variety in shape and diameter for the PCP With equal speed to a 22 rim fire and same grain Giving both the best ammo each can shoot should come down to the person behind the gun

Since I got my spring powered 22 cal air rifle 36 years ago and a pcp 22 cal 5 years ago I haven't shot a single rimfire ,so Its already replaced the rimfire for me a log time ago brbrYou can get started in air gun shooting for as low as 30000 for a pcp including a pump You can buy 500 pellets for 7 dollars Spend another 20000 on a good scope and start shooting brbrStart off at 10 yards and work your way out to 200 yards With the right pellet or slug you can start grouping less than 2 inches at 200 yards , It just takes practice brbrI don't shoot a lot these days but I average about a tin of 500 shots per month so thats 6,000 shots a year , for a grand total of 84 dollars in ammo Now compare that to a 22 cal rimfire at 35000 for 6,000 shots The more you can shoot the better you get
