I've been looking high and low for a mid tower case with a solid or vented side panel, and at least one 525" bay Needs to be able to fit those monstrous modern GPU's inside My current case is too narrow to fit them or the newer ATX30 psu's, hence why I need to upgrade Only reason I specify solid/vented panel is because I keep my PC on a desk to mitigate dust buildup(animals in the house), and accidentally dropping the panel on its corner or edge would cause it to shatter I also don't like the RGB and movement of internal components distracting me, so simply moving the case to the right isn't a comfortable option

3:15 lack of air pressure in the motherboard chamber resulting in ingress through the back is a bad thing in my mind because I try and create an air flow situation that results in all air coming into the case is through fans covered with filters and so air is forced out with no ingress other than through fans SO I do not like this case

I find it frustrating that tower cases are going the way of cars Prioritizing looks over performance improvements Recently saw video of guy that designed and printed ducts for his case to better direct air flow the temperature drops were modest but still far more exciting for me than any aesthetic changes being made by most companies Would be cool if they had some performance driven designs instead of gimmicks

I think it would be hard to beat the corsair iCUE 4000x For $130 you get a beautiful mostly glass case with 3 RGB fans Very functional as well Last year I built my own personal rig using the 5000X I loaded it with lots of RGB bling and I still find myself gazing at that absolutely gorgeous machine for long periods of time

What would be the best case for a air cooled 4090 and an AIO cooled CPU ? I currently have a corsair Air540 that isnt big enough for a new GPU so looking at case options to upgrade to You didnt seem that big on the Y60 or Y40, can the fractal torrent mount the GPU vertically ? does it come with a mount ? where does your AIO radiator go ? brwould a corsair 4000 or something be better ?

Still rockin an Antec 900 to this day although it's days are limited, a 295mm GPU get's rather snug and really limits your upgrade options There would be something poetic about jumping to the first good Antec case in forever but that Fractal North is calling my name

Unfortunately, there are a lot of cards that are not recommended for stand-up mounting due to the cooling tubes or vapor chamber not being designed to cool in that orientation Otherwise, I would enjoy the cleaner look of this type of mounting over the classic vertical mounting

Of all my old PC cases I still have that small aluminum silver Antec Super Lanboy (it has no weight) and the Antec 900 Antec went to ugly idiotic designs Failing USB ports, doors that break offbrThe Antec P100300 series was neat for its time for non--gaming systems, PSUs in their own chambers After that, they gave up with making over-price junkbrbrThose new Antec cases look nice, BUT they look like a cheaper version of the Fractal Torrent Compact cases The Antec logo that is sideways bIS/b ugly and makes no sense Hide it or make it smaller on the bottom Compared to the other cases in this video, most of them have a logo or NO name plate I have the Hyte Y60, it's clean and beautiful I like the look of the Fractal Torrent, but it doesn't work for my needs brbrThe Fractal North is an awesome-looking case, especially for non-gamer users I'll be using it for some clients and friends I would have gone with it if it had optional buttons/USB on the bottom side (The same reason I didn't get the Torrent) But of course that works for most people The inwin cases are neat, the wood looks good on the ModFree Mini, but NOT with brown plastic/metal parts It needs to be black, white, or metalbrbrGlad we're moving off basic minimal black boxes

The somewhat near future of PC design is going to have to be either smaller video cards, or case and motherboard redesigns Imagine a motherboard with no PCIe slots, just a header for riser cables for perhaps a cube shaped GPU with fans or ducts on 3 sides and routing of the video cables somewhere completely different Maybe even a riser going to an external GPU mount to be able to show it off and get complete airflow that doesn't radiate inside the case I haven't built anything since 2018, so there is probably a head start on all that I don't know about

Biggest problem in any Case is the GPU exhaust It basically sucks in air from inside the case and the exhaust is also into all 4 directions in the sample plane INSIDE the case brThe GPU is also power hungry and heats up the case very fast brMy only solution is a CPU and GPU tunnel for the intake Or AIO cooling which is 10x more expensive without a significant improvement
