I think for investment there is value in comics that have great covers, a high grade, and preferably a key event I think a comic that's well out of rotation or discussion and used to be expensive is a good value Something like X-Factor 6 or 24, or Uncanny X-Men 201 There are some cool number 1's that are pretty reasonably priced too, like Marvel Comics presents or Robocop Some pure cover plays are good too like Uncanny X-men 234 or Marvel Comics presents 117; relatively cheap in high grade but these comics move, especially MCP 117, so they might not stay cheapI wouldn't buy the already hot covers like Hulk vs Wolverine of the Todd McFarland Batman, there's still tons of value covers with allot of room to move

With modern variants they dont hold value, I have bought some just to see tgem selling for almost 60 less from what I paid Most of the older books not many can afford so maybe that variant fills that void of those books that are not affordable

I started collecting in 1983 the first two back issue Comics that I sought were 238 Amazing Spider-Man first appearance Hobgoblin and Incredible Hulk 181 I'm not kidding when I say I got both of those books in High Grade 92 to 94 each book 25 dollars in 1984 and I still have those books stored in a nice cool dark place great show as always
