Most of these questions aren't designed to assess suitability as a physician They're designed to see if you'll toe the line, kiss big pharma's ass and cover for the profession Sad

The questions are quite incisive and dig to motive I think a lot of it is weeding out the "I want to be a doctor" types from the "I want to practise medicine" people

interviews should do this more often - they should feign conclusion of the interview, with a period which extends afterwards As you can see there is a huge difference in his expression; he's relaxed and much more animated I think interviews indirectly restrict people's personalities due to fear of stepping out of line, relaxed interviews are not only better for the interviewee, but also for the legitimacy of the candidates responses

Those of you grilling this man would not have done half as good as he did He handled those curve ball questions smoothly It's impossible to prepare for everything and it's easy to freak out if they hit you with one of those

I understand he's a strong applicant but his answer to the challenges of medicine was really odd Dealing with older patients and death? I mean everyone in the medical field will have to deal with that - from nurses to dentists Wouldn't the tough hours and high work load be a better answer? I mean no offence but maybe he got into Cambridge because he's book smart

The world sucks nowadays with its overrated academic filters to weed out average people from jobs They want extroverted leadership skills yet they want introverted listening skills and they want only the highest academics yet they want to use the amazing discoveries and inventions of average people of the past that would not make the cut in today's med school

I would absolutely suck at the team work/ leadership question I don't like to lead people if I'm not an expert it's like I would be telling people how to do things that I don't even know is the correct thing
