It's risky being a cop since they're under so much public scrutiny right now, which in turn increases threat of ambush, chances of being sued by whoever you arrest, and public media that can easily be intrusive into your personal life, putting you and your family in danger if a case goes viral You're basically sacrificing yourself and those close to you for an average salary at best A chess piece to take blame and collateral from public backlash Any bad cop's action in the US that may be on the other side of the continent will reflect directly on you simply because you're in law enforcement Even if you're an ideal officer, when you go out the public will hate you because that's what the media plays 24/7 You have to weight all these cons against pros and find out if it's worth it For many people it is not This is why nationwide police is losing officers left and right If your own country betrays your and doesn't respect you, your lose your sense of purpose and self respect when performing your duty Same goes for the military Comment from : Admiral Ackbar |
