These kinds of fakes have been a big deal with collectible cards too, although not so much in the PSA/Beckett graded holders yet One of the keys to know a fake old card though is that even the best copies of now expensive cards from the 90s can't really get the paper right, as in the real aged card paper has a very distinctive feel that's almost impossible to replicate unless you somehow find vintage card stock of the exact same type Coins of course are a different story, and we very well might come to a day when the fakes get to good to tell : / Comment from : James M |
So on this example, concern is raised when you couldnt zoom into the photos & I guess the site itself, but a red flag raised when they were finally honest in the description sayin they had a factory? Very scary, even more scary if they weren't honest in the description Comment from : Silver Buckeye |

OMG it just goes to show you that there is no regulation on the internet you could buy something and it would turn out to be a piece of crap nobody will go to jail for it because it's coming from a foreign country and there's no way to stop it? Buy from your Local Coin Shop is my advice Comment from : William findspennies |

Hi Daniel I would like to know if you have heard anything regarding Mr Wexler who does the coin attributions, I sent some coins off to him and I got one message back saying that he was very sick but that was a few months back Just checking to see if he is alright and of course I am concerned about my coins but more concerned about his health Comment from : Guy Mull |
When it comes to graded coins, I personally normally just get raw coins and have them graded myself unless it is something specific I might be looking for that would be easier to buy an example already graded However, one thing I would definitely question is buying any coin that is coming from China It is a well-known fact that a lot of 'counterfeit' goods come out of there Another great video, by the way, it is great that you are getting this information out there for people who may not be aware of these things Thank you Comment from : Josepch Will |
👍 Comment from : Greg Mccoy |

I just got another phone call from a scammer coin dealer on Long Island They were trying to sell me BU Peace dollars for $980/roll when I can buy them from StacksBowers for $430 The guy insisted the price of these coins will double within 3 years Do not buy any coins from a coin dealer on Long Island with 631 area code They are scammers Comment from : ZXC |
With all the dishonesty that unfortunately goes on within this hobby, it makes me leery to purchase a graded and slabbed coin that has a certification number that checks out but no picture to go with it Bait and switch Comment from : Charlie Copp |
Very true, check cert AND know your coins (OR DON'T BE BUYING!) and never buy anything from China- their culture is based on fraud and win by any means - after doing business with Chinese companies over many years I have learned this fact- they actually take pride in defrauding you if you buy their pitch it is dispicable and foreign to most Westerners BTW - where do you find these obscure sites? Comment from : Value Hunter |
Hi Daniel can you do a vid on how to grade proof coins like all types of proof coins like large and small and world proofs ect but not modern proofs thanks Comment from : Platinum Skies |

They have 100 because most people are buying a ton to sell locally or on eBay They don’t want to kill their supplier That’s why I always lookup the cert # on these sites first for at least one check Comment from : HokieScott |
Another great video! It has been said, "The first person to say Caveat Emptor, was a Roman citizen bleeding from the behind" Comment from : Antonius Britannia |
Well, I know where to go to purchase an 1804 Dollar Comment from : Antonius Britannia |
I had a friend who bought an MS 1877 Indian Head on fleaBay cheap I looked at the reverse and saw that the N in ONE was strong, and this wasn't a proof (I don't remember if they had the weak Ns or not), so I could tell it was a fake This was several years ago, so it wasn't slabbed, and I don't know if the fake slabs were starting to appear yet Comment from : Tom Kirby |
One of the main problems is that the laws aren't being enforced by those in charge of enforcing them Let one of us make an 1877 IH penny and see what happens brbrbrThis goes for Fleabay too A lot of people don't realize that Fleabay gets at least 20 on final value fees Check your monthly invoice, they get 10 for final value fees and another 10 for final value fees on shipping, which forces people to overcharge on shipping, so it's not coming out of their pocket when the item is shipped brbrbrMy point is, they will continue to let bogus coins on their site for a dirty buck They just don't care if they hurt the honest guybrbrbrDaniel, thanks for another informative video and as Paul Harvey said, " Good Day! " Comment from : BlackMountainGold |
If you are looking for a bargain coin stop trying You won't find it There is a high chance it's fake This trips up a lot of people Comment from : ZXC |

Toliverjamesrarecoins on Ebay has a 100 positive feedback on 1,000+ transactions with deceptive, overhyped and altered photos of PL/DMPL Morgans Furthermore you can't even see the coins at all People like this obtain 100 feedback through easy return policies This needs to stop and we need to hold them accountable for their deception Comment from : Daves Not Here, Man |
