If I earn more than a million dollars in 10 years lets say 4million is there a possible way i can use 1million and earn a 10 return basically earning me 100k passive per year Ive heard index funds have this kind of effect I personally want to place a big chunk into something that can an earn me a relatively low risk investment that can allow me to retire and or start building other things in my life Im 19 and plan to work extremely in my 20s to 30 I don't care about clubs,parties nothing but success so for me I have this mentality what do you suggest is best for me Thinking venture capital looks nice or maybe investing in athletes or funding for concerts and tours in music for a percentage profit What do you think may work best for me brother

Can't imagine reason you would need cash for an emergency? Just imagine something could happen that you never thought of lol Having 5-10K cash around isn't terrible Remember back in 2008-09 there were banks limiting how much cash you could withdraw What about the China Virus and the resulting shutdown of the economy? Stocks plummeted so not a good place to have "emergency" money IMO brbr"Invest in property" while this seems like a good way to go I'm not sure it is for everyone Managing a property can be a disaster all on its own Hiring a property manager is a solution but costs $ and could also turn out to be a disaster I've been considering it myself but again not sure I'm the right person for that kind of investment

You probably need to have 3-6 months of cash on hand If you have an emergency fund in stocks and there comes a time you need the stock, you may be forced to close your position at a loss Granted the money isn’t earning sitting in a savings account but at least it wont fluctuate

$100,000 doesn't go as far as you would thinkbr1- Save enough to cover your deductiblesbr2- Pay off High Interest Debt (higher than 5) [credit cards, auto loans, etc]br3- Build Emergency Fund (3 - 6 months of expenses)br4- Max out Roth (or Traditional IRA, depending on age) and HSAbr5- Max out 401kbr6- Give some awaybr7- Have a little funbr8- Save whatever is left to repeat '4' & '5' in the following yearbrbrAND NEVER GO INTO DEBT AGAIN

I highly recommend before investing you create a safety net for yourself I define a safety net as having enough money in your bank account to cover a year worth of mortgage and car payments Better to be safe Once you have that number target your debt From there this discussion becomes very subjective
