James Cagney blows away all other gangster stars , he was making films when Al Capone was still alive & he created the Gangster genre of film & they used real actual bullets in all his films & he almost got his head shot off a few times because it was back in the 1930's long before they had squibs & cap guns & tiny explosives in movies invented so every bullet fired was real live ammunition 👍 hes the best & don't get it twisted , his movies were very violent because there was no movie censorship back in those days either so u could get away with anything, Scorsese also got his inspiration from Cagney & other 1930's crime films!!!
