Watching the news or movies and listening to songs wouldn't fit CI because it would be most likely well above everyone's level I am confused how you picked easy songs, and were able to determine a level that was appropriate (movies, podcasts etc)

Is there a way to base basic learning using comprehensible input from music? I know not necessarily grammar and sometimes pronunciation is off too but I listen to hours and hours of music and it’s what I can focus on the most Thank you so much :)

great advice!!! there is also a video series called "Viaje al Espanol", it has recaps and highlights of spanish thru-out the series and uses humor as a teaching method that keeps your attention you should check it out, its a great learning tool for beginners and intermediate alike

Don’t let no one fool you Learning Spanish is hard!brIt takes 1-3 years of daily practice! And not just on an app although they helpbrYou must get Spanish speaking friends and speak with them Go study Spanish in Latin America or moved there If not your Spanish will sound mechanical and goofybrTake it slow and be patient

My daughter learned Spanish by working around Hispanics and she can speak it fluent She read, write, and translate it She very intelligent She had to go get a?certificate that says she learned its for jobs ,but she never went to school for any of this Her Hispanics friends helped her

i won't dispute that comprehensive input is important - but for it to be effective, it needs to be accompanied with some degree of study - taking notes of the words you don't know and cannot determine through context, and look them up later you don't just magically increase your vocabulary through reading and listening

If I were ever to take Spanish from someone, you'd be that 'One' Cool story Beautiful woman Intelligent (I have my weaknesses) Okay, now check this out my waybr2014 64 year old and broken dude (US Navy Vet-VA medical based pension) moves from San Diego, CA to Tijuana, MX AD says no Spanish needed to gain big on your pension blah, blah, and blah I was terrorized as a kid with meine Oma Hilda und meine Tante Gertrude speaking German to me at times Took a year of Public School Latin in 1962-63 4 years of French in high school, Hamburg, New York BS Math Purdue University but had to take an elective language Took 4 semesters Yup! ¡Sip! you guessed it Spanish (now a story if told completely would make you cry won't go there) But, met a woman in Tijuana from Puebla Moved JAN 2015 to Puebla Now, the learning she left I stayed Whoops! ¡Uuups!I need to speak Spanish Bought dry marker board, erasers, dry markers Planned every day's activities por ejemplo need to go to market? Take a cab? Bús? Combi? Write down in English what needed to be said in Spanish, in Spanish, and practice 10 to 15 minutes From compu learn 10 new verbs and maybe 20 vocabulary to accomplish task Learn all verb tenses rapidly, all vocab related to an activity No one speaks in the Present Tense like they do for 3 straight months in formal classes No one in your new language gives a two hoots if you are 'just' learning They don't have the time just like you didn't have the time in your own language and country Learn Minimum 10 new verbs every day Speak, speak, speak to a native speaker, someone who will correct you, help you In 2017, I'm giving free American-English lessons for friends and neighbors 2019 take oral exam given in Spanish and French for French taught in Spanish placed in highest class level they have here, B2 high intermediate French AND classes AREN'T the way to learn to speak, BUT are excellent for socialization ew-la-la that's the spirit!
