love this, i've been doing the same except i'm lazy and only use CHATGPT to chit chat The best way to learn is talking with a native, so i ask it to only speak to me in italian ( the language i'm learning) about topics i'm interested, to ask me questions, to grade my answers and show my mistakes ( or which words would be better in xyz situaion) Ofc i still use other methods, but i've learned in weeks more than i did in months

There are a ton of good methods to learn a language with an alphabet I learned Spanish, French, Czech, and even Russian with its own set of letters, but it's still an alphabet And by that, I mean a set of letters that create words In all these languages, the first thing I did was to learn how to pronounce letters and read text Even if I didn't understand what it meant, I wanted to be able to read out loud anything to help memorize itbrbrNow, I try to learn Mandarin Chinese And it's a whole new thing Most of the methods and tricks I find online don't apply here It doesn't have an alphabet but a set of characters where each one is a word They have small hints on how to pronounce them, but generally, you need to memorize many characters before being able to read a text Let alone understand it I'm going to try ChatGPT for this But at first glance, it's not as easy as with alphabet-based languages I can use pinyin to some extent, but that's not the goal What do you think?

A lot of nice ideas I would not do too much efforts in the first 1000 words, because they are coming so ogften that you learn them automatic At the beginning it is a weak yes, but you know you, tu, el, y and so on without doing anything All the other things a really nice ideas How do you handle all the mistakes AI is doing? I have several translations from AI which is really advengerous

So you're not multilingual yet decide to make a video teaching others how to learn another language? Just asking ChatGPT to make you a plan or give tips doesn't mean it is suddenly going to make you fluent Points such as "wasting time learning stuff we're barely going to use anyway" shows the clear lack of understanding and ignorance of a monolingual Learning a language is not a race Good luck

This vid has some interesting ideas for ChatGPT prompts, especially in the second half However, I totally disagree with the AI proposed learning plan proposing to learn a thousand words in the very first month without knowing their gender nor their pronunciation, nor their situational context of how they are to be used One of the most creative uses for ChatGPT is probably, as shown, to write a story collaboratively, penning every other sentence I'll definitively try that one

I simply learn with LingQ, a platform which has its own ressources to get immersed in, and in addition a system of saving the words you dont know and presenting them to you, until you know them I am really amazed by this platform and what it can do Still, I experiment from time to time with ChatGPT with a free voice addon, so that I can speak to it and it can read back its messages out loud The possibilities are endless nowadays
