Amazing video this has helped me so much thank you bri! Comment from : MichaHarris |
love this, i've been doing the same except i'm lazy and only use CHATGPT to chit chat The best way to learn is talking with a native, so i ask it to only speak to me in italian ( the language i'm learning) about topics i'm interested, to ask me questions, to grade my answers and show my mistakes ( or which words would be better in xyz situaion) Ofc i still use other methods, but i've learned in weeks more than i did in months Comment from : dot |

There are a ton of good methods to learn a language with an alphabet I learned Spanish, French, Czech, and even Russian with its own set of letters, but it's still an alphabet And by that, I mean a set of letters that create words In all these languages, the first thing I did was to learn how to pronounce letters and read text Even if I didn't understand what it meant, I wanted to be able to read out loud anything to help memorize itbrbrNow, I try to learn Mandarin Chinese And it's a whole new thing Most of the methods and tricks I find online don't apply here It doesn't have an alphabet but a set of characters where each one is a word They have small hints on how to pronounce them, but generally, you need to memorize many characters before being able to read a text Let alone understand it I'm going to try ChatGPT for this But at first glance, it's not as easy as with alphabet-based languages I can use pinyin to some extent, but that's not the goal What do you think? Comment from : Piotr Rybałtowski |
thanks, i'll definitely try some of these Comment from : leekspinner |

Nice video bri! Now the last thing I need is the exposure Since you're not going to use it only for the bot right? brSo perhaps do you know how or where I can practice my speaking skills for certain language to drill effectively? Comment from : Nanieve |
Too bad you're not so smart Imagine what you could know if you actually had a brain Comment from : Gary Green |
A lot of nice ideas I would not do too much efforts in the first 1000 words, because they are coming so ogften that you learn them automatic At the beginning it is a weak yes, but you know you, tu, el, y and so on without doing anything All the other things a really nice ideas How do you handle all the mistakes AI is doing? I have several translations from AI which is really advengerous Comment from : Oliver Miller |
up until you get bored again Good luck! Comment from : Luca Molteni |
qutting? what dors it mean? Comment from : Victor Prohorov |
So you're not multilingual yet decide to make a video teaching others how to learn another language? Just asking ChatGPT to make you a plan or give tips doesn't mean it is suddenly going to make you fluent Points such as "wasting time learning stuff we're barely going to use anyway" shows the clear lack of understanding and ignorance of a monolingual Learning a language is not a race Good luck Comment from : tilterdog443 |
Holy shitI'm only 2mins in and you've convinced me haha I keep telling myself to play around with ChatGPT more and I don'tand I work in the VFX industry xDbrThanks for this! <3 Comment from : JayGatzVFXsk8r |

I'm using GPT as a tool to learn French, among others It's really good, however, there are a lot of mistakes, and confusion from GPT Sometimes it takes me more time to correct it, so GPT isn't all day beneficial Regardless of that, I'll keep using it :D Comment from : Evandro Souza |

If you quit, it’s only because you doubt and think very on highly of yourself that you’re not capable of doing things that’s your mindset your problem that you need to correct and fix other than that I don’t know you, but you could do it I believe in you just don’t use excuses and other technology for reasons why you never completed something your fault you fix it Comment from : jacob vidales |

This vid has some interesting ideas for ChatGPT prompts, especially in the second half However, I totally disagree with the AI proposed learning plan proposing to learn a thousand words in the very first month without knowing their gender nor their pronunciation, nor their situational context of how they are to be used One of the most creative uses for ChatGPT is probably, as shown, to write a story collaboratively, penning every other sentence I'll definitively try that one Comment from : SuperZardo |
I simply learn with LingQ, a platform which has its own ressources to get immersed in, and in addition a system of saving the words you dont know and presenting them to you, until you know them I am really amazed by this platform and what it can do Still, I experiment from time to time with ChatGPT with a free voice addon, so that I can speak to it and it can read back its messages out loud The possibilities are endless nowadays Comment from : InfiniteWisdom |
Why are you saying 'please' in your prompts to Chat GPT? Comment from : Nitronium Blood |

The headline is disingenuous There is no such thing as learning a language easily - unless , maybe, you are a small child with an impressionistic mind As an adult, whether you try to learn outside the country or inside the country, there are years of pain ahead of you Comment from : James Neilson Graham |
LMAO you just got yourself a "teacher" where you're the one "telling" him what you want to do by asking what you need to do ChatGPT will not help you with your motivation by itself, you're the one enjoying the process and doesn't matter which tools you use Will be better for you to interact with others using that target language, watch and read TONS of content and, when needed, learn the grammar structures You want to be fluent with another language? Crank those hours up, the more you do, the better your skills Comment from : Mobik |
Method 3 I completely disagree with, you should ALWAYS learn vocab in context, or you a)wont remember it and b) wont be able to use it Comment from : Chad Vader |

"Instead of being a Boomer, and Googling for all of these resources, which can take hours" (chuckling) So yeah us finally moving out of the toe of the AI S-curve makes Google yesterday's news, eh? (Minus BARD, but we won't go there) But Way to age-discriminate, Bri As a 4+ decades-in-tech Boomer, I'll note that the technically illiterate exist across the age spectrum But sure, ok, at bleast/b many (many) in my generation experience most tech advances as one "Wait, what?" after anotherbrbrEver since Eric Drexler's 1986 "Engines of Creation", I've been watching AI develpment and anxiously awaiting the simultaneously awe-inspring and terrifying explosion of AI that we're finally seeing For me, that explosion feels very very much like the mind-boggling birth of computing-as-we-know-it (back in the late 70s / early 80s), only more so Much bmuch/b more so I'd say "but on steroids", but that's so cliche But thatbrbrSo this particualar Boomer is diving headlong into AI tooling, because (besides being fun), that's pretty much tomorrow's normalcy the sort of normalcy that Google became in the late 90's / early 2000s Utilizing AI tooling even seems (like being Google-competent today) like tomorrow's basic survival skills in a digital world, of course Lose power, and that all goes to sh*t, but let's not go there either That's what solar panels are for, eh? Comment from : Patrick Sweeney |
ofcourse i dont know about you, you made this video took you few hours few days probablz u happy u create content that presumably helps other humans, bravo Comment from : egi __ “Lyrics adder” |
a goal when it comes to languages? I dont know about you, yes, i do not know about you, my presumption is your human memory works the same way mine does, if i want to be able to speak fluently a language i must practice regularly, until the last day i will experience before i die Comment from : egi __ “Lyrics adder” |
All that and you still don't know Spanish Comment from : MDK 42 |
Don't be an ageist That's a disgusting look for anyone because it's not like you won't get older Firstly, not all boomers do that And secondly, search engines exist for a reason and more than just boomers use them Comment from : Happiness Frequency - Reprise |
Do you have a video so we can hear all the spanish you learned? Comment from : Johnny Karlsson |
I am a Boomer and I often use chat GPT with speech to text, for faster typing Can I use chat GPT to correct my Spanish pronunciation? Comment from : Dave King |
