I'm always searching for jade and I have the feeling I have passed over many a rock because it was weathered on the outside, or had no visible translucent green, or was a colour other than that deep green I like and know in jade other than the flashlight test, what field tests are there for trying to see into the rock? For those of us without access to a rock saw, can we try to flake off a few pieces with a rock hammer and try to "see inside" the potential nephrite that way?s
