Seva kendra have stop making adhar card for nri with indian passport if their stay is less than 180 days I have called hotline and visited seva kendra in different locations but no luck So nri’s no need to worry about making adhar cards If indian government really need this individual id for every resident, they should make us id during arrival on airport Looks like they are not even doing efforts on their own scheme 1 local guy working in kendra was asking me 40,000 rupees to make adhar card i said i dont need to spend that much money for identification Modi comes and everything got messed up in india I hope they make it online registration to avoid such corruption and easy for everyone

@ 6:08, the information being shared is incorrect OCIs can't opt or volunteer to apply for an Aadhar card if they have NOT stayed for 182 days in the preceding 12-month period OCIs can only apply for Aadhar card if they stay over 182 days in twelve months immediately preceding the date of application for enrolment

I am a foreign citizen I applied and got a PAN issued using my old PAN card number valid even after migrating to a Western country So no issue getting PAN However, I used to get emails asking me to link my PAN and Aadhar cards In the application itself, the passport details and Foreign IRS number, FATC, etc clearly tell that I am an OCI The email is a no-reply email The confusion here is that OCIs who are non-residents in India can obtain an Aadhar card after a stay of 182 days or not (continuous stay) in India Here MrRao says a total of 182 days which I believe is incorrect

Recently I and My wife went to India I live in US for the past 25 Years We try to apply the Adhar card They said we have to stay in India for 6 Months This is stupid We born in India, we did our education in India Recently we become US citizens Because of this they asked us to stay in India for 6 Months Who will stay leaving jobs in US This rule is good for the people born outside India Not the people who born in India and spent almost 25 Years in India, having properties in India I was so upset with this rule This is the problem with rules in India

This is the most stupid way to link them When NRI comes to India for a short period of time he or she does not have a phone and how can they get a OTP and get confirmation of change in status in income tax file The whole system is a sham NRI cannot deposit dollars worth more than fifty thousand rupees in conversion in his own bank account Its such a pain now to go to India I had lot of problems converting my dollars to rupee
