Presumably, money market funds enable the liquidity needed for the commercial paper market But what happens if more and more people shove their funds into money market accounts, and it gets to the point that there's more money sitting there looking for commercial paper to buy than the volume of commercial paper available to be purchased? Basic economics would say that the interest rate paid on the MMA would decline, right? Because if everyone bids up the "price" of the commercial paper, that knocks down the interest rate on the commercial paper, doesn't it? Comment from : Deer Hunter Thom |

Does these money market funds act as treasuries? I mean, if yield goes up, bond value goes down and if you don’t wait to maturity, you will lose if yield goes up as bond price will drop Comment from : Nsfg |

Good alternatives for parking cash while waiting for lower prices Been pleased with SGOV the past 8 mo, beats TFLO by a couple bucks Also some 3 mo t-bills and Schwab MMfund Been looking into high div payers TLTW and HYGW to buy at what I think is short or long term top in rates Comment from : Gary65437 |
