there is only one good thing about the touch bar, You know that you can skip adds by dragging your finger across the time line when watching youtube, I found that super useful, and I'm sure that developers didn't know about it, It just happens to be possible I just purchased a early 2015 13inch macbook pro with 16gb ram which I care the most about because the storage is upgradable using a simple and cheap adapter so fingers crossed it will work well and btw I only payed $209 for a grade B+ model Comment from : TheCarAdventure |

Hi there! I am actually thinking of buying this particular laptop because i have to bring it to school for all the school work like typing documents, researching and etc I need a laptop with a battery that lasts 4-5 hours max Do you think this macbook will be the right one for me as i have to take to school with me? Comment from : suzana sabrin |
I picked up one of these the other day they are dirt cheap compared to prior years I remember 2-3 years ago used they were going for 300-500 for a base 13 inch Today you can get one for around 200$ or less if you shop around THe M1 macbooks really kinda slashed the used intel macbook prices and rightfully so they solved the whole slow and hot problem macbook had for decades But for a secondary machine for like task an intel mac is perfect Comment from : manga key |
Ma i the only one with this MacBook having issues like fan to max and choppiness when resizing windows when playing a simple YouTube video? I don’t understand if it is normal, or it is just my MacBook that is giving up Comment from : Antonio Possidente |

If you're looking for a backup laptop & you're nor a creative professional, it works just fine & will still perform about 90-95 of your tasks It would be good to upgrade the RAM & SSD to maximize performance Comment from : Martin Waring |

$700?? 6-8 hours? I run one of these I got for £150 and fixed up with a new battery and drive, along with my thinkpad, and compared to the thinkpad, 6-8 hours is godly Though I do all intensive tasks on my custom built pc, so I don’t drain it fast Comment from : Nequa Star |

Upgrade the ram and put a SSD in it It should make video editing much more snappy Comment from : WolfBitOdyssey |
I have been using this macbook since mid 2016 and it has been a powerhouse for a long time This laptop is the sole reason why I refuse to purchase another laptop despite my current needing to upgrade my SSD and replace the battery (as others have mentioned, the battery will degrade and it will severely impact your experience)brThe features you get from a macbook are great, the hardware is great, but none of that matters to me when I consider this next point; this laptop can take a beating and has even survived 3 full cup spills I was feeling a bit discouraged from fixing this laptop and considered buying a new one, but I have realized with the help of this video that there is still treasure within my trash Comment from : Josh G |
I'm finally letting go of my mid 2011 MacBook Pro and getting a 2015 model I once borrowed one from a friend to edit and I found it held its own very wellbrbrIt's still worth it in 2023 Comment from : Bright J Mweemba |
I have a 2015 pro Only thing wrong with it at this point in 2023 is it now tops out at OS Monterey The touch pad has also become hard to press, and I seem to need to give it a firm press, more so than when it was new I don't feel I need a pro, will probably take a look at the AIR Comment from : dwoodog |
I got a 15" 2015 MacBook Pro a couple of months ago for $350 with a tired battery Mine is a top tier spec with the 28 Ghz i7 and dedicated graphics w/ 16 GB ram After replacing the battery, ditching MacOS and installing Manjaro Linux, it's safe to say it's one of the best decisions I've made in the past few years With enough love and patience these machines can age like fine wine The screen is still so much better than most mid-range Windows laptops these days (especially around the price I paid for my unit) the keyboard is much better than the butterfly keyboard, and battery life isn't an issue from replacing the old one and running a lighter OS If you're willing to give Linux a try and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty, these older machines can be fantastic daily drivers Comment from : Gabriel Sierra |
Watching this in my late 2011 13" MacBook Pro It's still working pretty well and I am using this as my main laptop for my Virtual Assistant job Comment from : Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa |
Still use mine now - more than happy running older software on it and thanks to the 500gb SSD and 16gb Ram it still runs fast - love it lots Comment from : mark ockwell |
I think you paid a lot for it You could get a new MacBook Air M1 for $900, and you paid $700 for this With that you will get warrenty, new softwear, much better battery life, better display, and much much more portable For $200 i think you are giving up a lot Comment from : Neil Coelho |
Ngl IMO if you have 16GB of ram, some external ssds and Opencore it can be a amazing deal Comment from : An L |
I just picked up a used 2015 pro for 400 bucks and it is amazing for someone who has never owned a Mac definitely worth buying one used the battery only had just over 100 cycles so its like hardly depleted its original capacity plus I like having all the ports and not needing annoying adaptors for plugging in my audio interface Comment from : Brad Carter |
The 13" was never "Pro" in my opinion Comment from : Wolfe & Co (Archive) |
I have a Mid-2014 154 Inch Macbook Pro that is still running strong to this day It is not as snappy as the M2 that I just got, but I feel I could have kept using it for another 2-3 years if I hadn't gotten into an accident that bent the chassis 8-9 years of service is insane for a laptop, I am usually happy if I get 5-6 without severely degraded performance Comment from : Boggs |
i have a macbook pro 2015 i7 and its a banger Comment from : shortRAGE |
I'm still using my Macbook Pro 13-inch Retina (the exact same one as in this video, just a year older) almost every single day I'm using it for light-work, such as typing documents and working for Facebook pages It's almost 9 years old now and the battery is still very good The only sad story that I've had with this machine is that it had a major screen problem, for which I was just too late to have it fixed for free You must have seen this with other people, when you turn off the screen it looks like parts of the screen were burned-in I've fixed this (kid you not) by rubbing Listerine mouthwash on top of for about two hours This way you rub off the anti-glare, and now the screen is fine (only have more difficulties with sun reflection) Comment from : Armand Wauters |
I love your channel because it's a reality check on how useful older tech is in modern times Comment from : sidspacewalker |

What's funny is that a lot of the form factor design and weight, the new ones actually are quite similar (Saying this as I own the 2012, 2015 and the new second gen M1 14") Comment from : Christian Olmeda |

I still use the base 2015 MacBook Pro in 2022 and it's great The design, the screen, the ports, are all still etremely modern It's definitely dated in terms of power but it works great for streaming, web surfing, music production, and light photo editing & video editing It's definitely handy to have a Macbook as an iPhone user for airdrop, imessage, etcbrbrI use it alongside my gaming PC and it does exactly what I need it to dobrbrI did get the battery replaced for around $150 through Apple and the thing works like new again From what they told me the 2015 MBP is about to be cut from their list of servicable Macs so if you're an owner of one looking to extend its lifespan a bit, I'd recommend getting the battery serviced at least before its too latebrbrApple really knocked it out of the park with this laptop in terms of usability and design Amazing screen with all the ports you'd ever need No need for dongles, no issues with the keyboard I can see myself using this thing for another 5 years Comment from : pasta |
hey! would you recommend the Macbook Pro 13” Early 2015 i5 27GHz for photography editing? That’s the only one I can buy and I would really like an expert opinion! Comment from : Eddy Manuel Peña Guerrero |

Heres some tips!!! br1: save documents separate from a backup! (Also backup your mac) dont restore from the backup as that can bring issues back unless you have to brbr15: 😂… Do a diagnostic test with it plugged inbrbr2: using disk utility clean your disk and reformat it to the default settings brbr3: do first aid, I think from the smallest volume to the largest… maybe double check thatbrbr4: re install the software using recovery modebrbr5: sign in and set up the mac brbr6: Do a nvram, pram, and smc reset brbr7: use reduce motion in accessibility, and adjust basic battery/performance to reduce usage (it is still older) brbr8: dont over stuff yo hard drive ! Keep decent bit of storage brbr9 enjoy your newly tuned mac! Comment from : John |
