The Mint used alternative materials for the nickel-less 5¢ piece and stamped two special identifiers to mark it as a special coin: a big 'V' for victory and a message in Morse Code saying, “We win when we work willingly” Comment from : FastJoeLab |

It’s nice to see someone put together a Canada type set here on YouTube I’ve been working on mine (despite not being able to find a Dansco) for a few years now My best piece is probably my 1893 quarter graded vf20 (For those that don’t know, 1893 is one of the key dates) Comment from : Andrux0821 |

Nice video! Love the tokens! The guy on the token isn't actually Louis-Jospeh Papineau, he isn't anybody in perticuliar actually (just a habitant) wich is why this tokens are usually called habitant tokens The token with the flower bouquet is form 1835 iirc You are right that colonial tokens are normally copper, some silver and gold exemples of a very few types exists but these would have been presentations pieces Also, "peuple" is not prononced like that because "e" and "u" together in french does a special sound Banque du peuple means bank of the people Bank of montreal, Quebec bank, city bank, bank of upper-canada (they made the tokens for the Province of Canada when Toronto became the capital in 1849, quebec and montreal bank were making the tokens before) and some banks in the maritimes aswell I think Comment from : Raphaël bérubé |

It's crazy how canadian silver dollars have such low mintage yet are still cheap I guess nobody cares You can still put togeather a type set super easy The highest mintage for the 1937-47 is the 37 at 207k I take that to mean in the whole world there isn't 200k people that care enough to put together a canadian silver dollar type set🤷♂️🤯 Comment from : Sean OConnor |
