in brief:brIn this video, the speaker discusses their language learning journey and shares habits and mindsets that have benefited them They touch on:
br
br1 Being receptive to feedback and mistakes
br2 Not being a perfectionist in note-taking
br3 Looking at vocabulary differently by engaging with words and chunking phrases
br4 Simplifying their learning process by focusing on one resource at a time
br5 Taking notes in different languages
br6 Understanding that not everything needs to be written down or reviewed constantly
br7 Reading more in the target language
br8 Being teachable and open to guidance from tutors or teachers Comment from : e-genieclimatique |
|
I have two notebooks: one for taking notes in class (which is messy) and another one for rewriting my notes in a pretty/neater way for when I turn it in (since much of the time, the assignment is just to turn in our notes) brbrI do better when I re-write things and always have, but I do it actively…not just like a robot lol I’ve always taken my notes like that and am trying to come to grips with writing them on my iPad app (cause environment), but I love the feeling of writing on paper 😂🤭 brbrThank you for all your help These videos are so lovely to have for motivation as well 🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️ Comment from : Katie A |

Time stamps?! Upvote! Comment from : Jeffrey Barker |

<3 Comment from : Isii Aspe |

Using a binder to learn a language can help you understand how to organize how you learn and where to put things Right now, I'm currently dividing my language binders (Spanish and Vietnamese) into 8 categories: Goals daily/weekly planner, Vocabulary, Grammar, Creative Writing, Notes, Activities, Resources and Self Quizzes, tests and corrections This definitely helps if you have ADHD like me :) Comment from : Bubblecatt |

How can I talk to a native speaker even though I’m only 14? Comment from : Autumn Flurries |
|
My only bit of pickiness with learning is that I actually love taking my notes and making them aesthetically pleasing because it helps me to process what I'm writing a lot more if I have all if the charts and color coordination, but that's just me :) Comment from : Ghost |
|
If you have dreams where you talking in a certain language the you can say that you can speak it I was never worried about to make so called "mistakes" its the task of the native speaker to understanding what i have to say its not my problem I'm pretty ignorant how or what they thinking about my spelling or grammar The important is that i get what i want at the end🙂 Comment from : Hans Löwe |

|
you actually do not have to get scared to talk in other languages thinking that others will judge you cause i think the only people who will judge you are the ones who dont know the language as for native speakers of your target language, i think they will get more amazed even if you speak a bit think it with yourself for me, i would be super excited if a foreingner attempts to speak bangla (my native language) forgetting about the mistakes they are making so dont be shy😁 Comment from : LHTA 2661 |

Whenever I start learning another language I always fell in the same mistakes I always start very excited and few months later I fell like a total failure So, I realized that I have the wrong mindset, I'm always felling stuck because I force myself to memorize vocabulary lists or grammar rules all the time It happened when I was learning English and again when I was learning Japanese When I decided to make my hobby an English maintenance thing my vocabulary improved a lot My hobby is to watch videos, like any type of videos, about dogs, hair, languages, habits, etc This way I learned the vocabulary of many things that I like I wish I knew it earlier!!!! I have a semi decent handle on Spanish, and the last few years I've been focusing on just French It's hard to motivate myself to read Eragon in french everyday There is no way I could get myself to do 12 languages Also it's taking so much time just to learn french I want a huge vocabulary It's slow going though I do about two pages a day Reading, listening to the audio, and learning words and phrases (sentence structures) I don't know I feel if I go too fast, it won't stick in my brain Plus I only devote about an hour a day to it Comment from : Tony Hogg |
