A note of warning from a burned customer of ACER: DONT BUY THEM!! My wife's Acer cost over a thousand bucks, three years ago: it a well-specified i5 and very good specs and display HOWEVERACER don't know how to make Hinges!! My wife's very lightly-used Laptop snapped its hinges within a year! Apparently, this is a common, 12-YEAR-OLD ISSUE!!

Hey man, i've only discovered your channel a few weeks ago, cuz i'm a student looking for a good laptop around the thousand dollar mark, and recently, i found a (on the spec sheet) really good laptop, the lenovo ideapad 5 pro 8th gen, i saw your video on the 7th gen laptops, and i figured that by the stats on the 2023 versions, it could be worth checking out both the 14" and the 16" have the 3050 6 Gb gpu, 13700H for the 14" and 13500H for the 16", both are quite light (146ish and 195 kg), and a pretty alright screen

I'm glad you're clear about what you're basing your analysis on But I think you underestimate just how many people don't care about the screen or keyboard A lot of us use our laptops as a desktop replacement, so the screen is just a second screen and the keyboard isn't really used except for rare occasions of travelling, or working away from home

2:10, Im 3d visualizer and I usually work on 10,20,30 all this indoor, for reading I use 0 which is 15nits, and 30 which is 60nits May be to check the render out put I use 90 nits thats 40 I dont want any extra bright laptops300 nits is used when I wanted to trace something on to the paper

Thank you for this video, yours is definitely the best-crafted on this topic ✨brbrI'm watching it on my Acer Predator Helios 300, which I would personally NOT recommend to anyonethis is the first (and will most likely be the last) product I bought from Acer and I've had nothing but hardware and craft issues ever since I've had it, from certain keys not registering keystrokes (unless I press them with the weight of a thousand Suns) to the AC Adapter going out after a couple of years, to constant bouts of freezing up and random BSODs I've had this thing for just under 5 years since buying it in Summer of 2018 and I had to open it up the year after to fix the keyboard issue, just for it to come back a couple years later I can't even use it for gaming anymore (which is what this thing was made for) because the battery disconnects any time an above-average level of stress is put on it 😩

I think there is one laptop that is often overlooked - Asus ROG Flow X16 It features the best screen across all windows laptop (rivalling MacBook 1-to-1), slim formfactor comparable to Dell XPS 15 but advanced cooling system so unlike XPS it is actually very game-able with up to RTX 3070ti Come with a couple of nice perks, like being 2-in-1, nice audio, a touch screen, a very good keyboard and modest look I would say it is the best - and only - actual allrounder, where compromises feel like compromises and not entirely missing something important

Dell has a cheaper "Inspirion" line of laptops and one of these is a really good machine for coding for a very reasonable price I bought the Inspiron 16 Plus model [P117F model] at Costco (a US warehouse store) it´s a really good machine for coding as the display is 16" with 3072x1920 resolution, 1TB SSD, 40GB Ram, i7-12700Hx23GHz proc, a great keyboard and aluminum case Cost was $1049 USD mid April, 2023 (discounted from $149999 USD) A Macbook pro with equivalent spec or better spec would cost $3499 Biggest problem with this model is the sound and to be honest, it sucks The display quaity, keyboard and case are of equivalent quaity to my prior Macbook Pro 16" It runs Windows 11 and Linux Mint beautifuly
