My apartment complex in Palm Springs doesn't have recycling and I can't bring myself to throw away my cans and bottles SooooooI currently have about 3 years worth of recycling in the trunk of my car The car no longer runs so at least it's being used for something 😄

I recycle every 3-4 months or so - aluminum cans & plastic bottles Takes a little bit of effort, but well worth it! (We've also been recycling since the '60's & 70's)

people just throw their garbage all over the streets in toronto bums go through the dumpsters for cans and take them to a beer store its amazing to see the number of people going through the trash cans

I'm in NJ & we don't pay deposits on cans & bottles We have to put our trash out at the curb for pickup by a trash contractor retained by the town We put out recycling (cans, bottles, cardboard, etc) every 2 weeks & again, a contractor retained by the town picks it up & hails it away The town gets money back on the recycling I think lady year was about $17k that they use for other projects in town

Hey Stevethat’s a great video! Since we moved to CA from PA, we’ve been recycling our trash too We didn’t have to do that in PA, but since we are new arrivals here, we don’t mind at all doing this CA is a whole new adventure, & we feel like we should obey these “trash” rules We also save water when we can, & on gas & electricity too I feel like we should respect beautiful CA!!!

We just recycle at our apartment complex, everything from our garden waste/compost to plastic , paper and cans Recycling Centers are not close by so we let it go Either way recycling is essential part of ecological living! Thanks guys!😊

Here in Fort Collins I recycle but the trashman said that most people don’t use it correctly, so…? We still try our hardest 😊 🎉 I guess people don’t do it correctly, we have to wash the items 😮

In Illinois, I recycle I pay the mandatory fee in conjunction with the water bill A bin is supplied, so I use it, but I don’t get cash back for doing it

Here in AL we don't have any type of mandatory recycling No deposits on bottles and cans Although it's a college town I live in someone would make a lot of money if they recycled cans and bottled during football season I think recycling us just beginning to catch on here You can request for a separate little crate to put recyclable items into but it's really small and only certain numbers on the items will they allow to be recycled

Oregon has had a redemption program for years - and thankfully it is much more user-friendly than yours I donate my recycling to an older individual struggling to live on social security She is able to buy products food stamps does not pay for (such as laundry detergent)

Here in Michigan there is a deposit on soda, beer, and some bottle waters of 10 cents each I give my bottles to my parents since I hate returning them We have to go to a store that sells the products or they don't take them I gave my dad 3 30 gallon garbage bags filled with 32 oz bottled water and he said he got back around $1900

♻️Nice return Steve!🤑brOver here in San Bernardino County, most of the recycling centers disappeared around Covid time Fortunately, I buy/use very little bottles or cans at all What little I do use goes in the blue recycling bin I'm surprised like you that recycling isn't done everywhereI guess here in California it is so automatic and we have done it for so long! Who knewLOL!!! 😂😅😂

😅situation here in Texas is the same as yours We have 3 cans One for regular trash, one for organic and the other for regular recycling I was a faithful recycler until the lid broke off of my can completely Was a little at a time due to rough handling and inconsiderate neighbors hitting my can with their vehicles I've tried several times over a couple years time to get the city to trosir it replace, to no avail The can would get at least halfway full of water whenever their was rain Had to dump it which wasn't easy so I finally gave up No longer recycling Turned can upside down They would come out and look at it but do nothing Its crazy Don't know what the issue is but got tired of fighting it Anyway guys, that's my story I'd prefer to recycle but city doesn't seem to care, sadly

I used to recycle cans and bottles but the hassle factor of storing the bottles and cans became a problem and oftentimes finding a place to return them is hit and miss

Hi Steve, it sounds like California"s recycle policy is similar to Michigan"s we pay a ten cent deposit on all cans and bottles at the point of purchase and collect our refund upon returning All of our grocery stores have a recycling center

Where I live in BC canada we have been recycling our bottles since the '70's just recently we are now charged a deposit on milk containers and the like, We are also gettinga curbside composte cart along with our recycle cart (carboard, plastic) and household garbage

Where I’m from in Dayton we only recycle certain things in our garbage cans and they’re very picky on what it is Have to stuff We still have to throw in a regular garbage can that could be recycled

Where I live in Pennsylvania we do have the recycling trucks that come to the houses every two weeks The regular garbage is once a week At the grocery stores I go to they have a recycling area for bottles and drink cans plus you can bring plastic bags or the plastic that the paper towels comes in and stuff like that The cardboard can be picked up by the recycling every two weeks or in my town we have a cardboard dumpster at the town hall that residents can use Also there if you are a soda or beer drinker in cans i there is an area for aluminum cans at town hall Same at one of the firehouses, they set aside an area for aluminum cans Where the high school football stadium is they have a big dumpster available from Wednesday - Friday year round for yard waste So, we do a pretty good job here in my part of Pennsylvania

I grew up in a rural area of Maine, and because homes were so far apart it was everyone's responsibility to take their own trash/recycling to the dump I think that's why a lot of people don't recycle - if you take your own trash it's more work to sort your recycling I grew up with hippie parents though, so recycling and composting was always a big deal for us lol

I live in a small town so no recycling I would just give it to them to get it recycled My daughter's family visited in CA a few years ago They were familiar with taking your reusable bags to the store but going out to eat was the shocker Not a plastic straw in sight!

Where I used to live they wouldn't let me recycle because I lived in an apartment building which is kind of ridiculous I live in Tennessee now in an apartment building and I don't know if they'd let me recycle here or not but I would have said let me

In Oregon we pay 10 per can and certain bottles I use to recycle and with the money I received back I saved and took my Mom to England, Scotland and Ireland over a 3 years time Of course this was back in the late 90’s Of course it helped to have family there so no motel cost I got my Mom to recycle but they do it differently in California You brought back some good memories with my Mom Thanks❤️
