Been loving your videos At 24 years old, I don't recall my parents really teaching me everything about money as a kid, which is why I'm kinda bad at saving my money Lately, they have been teaching me more, but as a kid, I didn't really think about money at all, yet wanted expensive things like American Girl dolls, electronics, and unlimited sushi Comment from : Terrance13 |
|
I didn't see the baby's name in the credits Comment from : Paw Patrol News |

I feel like older generations hid their finances from their kids, and while that has rubbed off on some of the younger generations, most people are starting to understand the importance of teaching kids about money at a young age Comment from : Freedom Sprout |

Our daughter is 10 and we have started having her in the room with us when we are discussing the budget and finances We have indicated why we charge low rents to our tenants (because we don't believe in beign greedy), the impact of things we have spent that week that was not in our budget, and I have been discussing how global events are affecting the things we buy Comment from : Joel Reid |

Money motivates adults to work hard so it should motivate kids to work hard in school When I was a kid, i didn't understand the value of education or the concept of money and earning, but I think I'd value my education alot more if I got paid for good grades Comment from : Zohirul Islam Jewel |

A lot of adults were not taught about how to handle money from out parents, I know I wasn't I made it a goal to educate and question my nieces and nephews about it I found this blog which helped a lot and I sent it to them (they are preteens) - millennialsvsmoneycom/raising-financially-responsible-children/ Comment from : Neon Pandas |

Luckily for us, we were taught about money and finances and all of that at school when we were thirteen When we got older, it got into more detail and there were different electives that we could take that were related to money Even tho I had always known most of the stuff we were taught at thirteen, it was still a useful experience Comment from : Zachary Rosenberg |

There are other ways to learn about finances My parents did the opposite with me in terms of interest I wasn't really allowed to spend my money on many things growing up, because they only allowed me to spend it on big purchases (telescope, TV, driving license, now university debt) while they paid for the daily stuff That means most of the time I had a large amount of money in my bank account with a goal However, my parents have had money problems at times They would borrow from me (with my consent only) instead of going into overdraft and give me interest, which I was obviously always happy about Comment from : Amélie |
|
Wow I never knew "discussing money" is such a problem My parents are very open about everything they just have limited knowledge If I ever asked about my dad's income and ask how much is being deducted for what he'll just tell me the amount he received and that he doesn't have much idea about rest but he was always willing to give me his payslip in case I could figure it out :v well, being a kid I never understood those numbers and so that's all we talked Apart from that we're very open about any debt or LIC or insurance he has to pay, he mostly just ends up giving me all the papers to know for myself instead of him telling me something he doesn't understand! Comment from : Ansu Kumari |
