Gotta say, I don't think this video gave any actual information This was incredibly biased Like you said at the end, credit cards are a tool that people need to learn how to use The attempt at guilt tripping when you said that others who don't pay off their debt every month is paying for other peoples flights was kind of ridiculous It is absolutely not my problem that other people spend more than they can afford We all have access to the internet Learn how to use the tool properly Comment from : Maria Von Trapp |

Where I live, if you are a student, you have to pay your balance at the end of the month It's to make sure you can't get into debt when you are young and it's easy to spend money on things you don't need Most people I know that got a credit card in college never turned that feature off But most people here don't have a credit card Comment from : Cyn |
This is awesome Comment from : Bacciagalupe |

Great video for people who dont understand credit really But when you treat the credit card like a debit card, 80 of what you said is not applicable knowing how the system works and how to play the system is worth your time knowing rather than this Comment from : Nick M |
I like your video but you didn’t mention few things like most store bump up prices to account for credit cards swipe fees So even if you pay cash you paying for my trip Also me spending about 1200 dollars in 3 months to get 75k aa miles which can be use to book on way first class on japan airlines from JFK to Tokyo which cost around 15grand definitely worth it I would spend 1200 dollar in three months anyway Why not put it on a credit card and get 15k value And yes i pay my card in full every month Comment from : MPolicebhai |
Bad advice! As long as you pay your credit card off every month, like we have for the past 20 years, you will only benefit from using credit card rewards and mileage points My wife and I have racked up tens of thousands of dollars of rewards over the years! If you use your debit card instead you will gain nothing! Comment from : Veritas |

0:51 - 1:11 All absolutely true If it wasn't for the snarky way she said it, you would think it was a commercial by the credit card commercials themselves The fact that OTHER people use THEIR cards irresponsibly has absolutely nothing to do with whether a credit card is a good idea that gets some of us good deals, convenience, and easy money management Comment from : Michael Anderson |
These guys barely cover the most important aspect of these programs, interchange fees These are the fees that credit card networks charge merchants to use their networks The thing is, in their agreement with the CC networks, merchants aren't supposed to charge extra fees to CC holders to cover the interchange fees (though admittedly some do) What happens is that the merchant has to increase the cost of their goods to cover the interchange fees This means that everyone not using the CC are actually subsiding those fees for the CC holders So thanks cash users for helping to pay for my rewards flights! Comment from : The Wandering Way Today |
I've always felt more "pain" using a credit card than cash I think its because i link my bank account to the credit card, and I see cash as money thats already been removed from my account having the cash out of my account is like its already spent that of course means that going to an atm feels like spending money Comment from : BigSalo |

Posting in March 2021, and I have found that spending cash has taken on the "less real" quality that swiping a card used to for many people Because cash can only be spent in person, I very seldom used it in the past year In person purchases require interaction with other humans who potentially carry covid Almost all of my spending has been done online, including grocery shopping for curbside pickup Gas stations are all swipe your card to buy fuel (Yes, you could go inside and pay with cash at the register, but pandemic) In fact many businesses are now ONLY online, drive through, or for pick up, and those all require purchase with a credit or debit card I bought a meal at the drive through with cash yesterday and it felt like paying with funny money, with no consequences to my bank account because it didn't change my bank balance brbrThere's a topic for further research Comment from : Ginger Redshoes |

Yes, the companies are charged by the credit card companies and that fee is passed onto the consumer, but when factoring in the cost of a credit card should that really count? In some situations there are separate prices for people that use cash and those that use cards, but for the most part you will be charged the same price no matter what form of payment you choose That meansven if you use cash only, the price you pay for an item will still be covering the store's credit card costs Comment from : snowangelnc |
Gotta get me a butterfly shirt now Comment from : Dennis Nedry |
Pay your statement balances on time, and if you can, pay your Full balance The key when it comes to playing the points/miles game is to discipline yourself to not spend outside of your normal habits If you can stay disciplined in those two areas, you will be just fine I have made over $1,000 using charge cards, and I have never paid interest or a late fee Plus, my annual fees are waived under the lending act Comment from : ChappedLips |

Thank you so much for this video! I do have a question though: does this apply to people collecting miles of flights they're taking anyway?br I have a Star Alliance Frequent flyer card which I use collect miles on everytime I happen to fly on a Star Alliance airline I don't have any credit card associated with, usually choose the cheapest air fare possible, and in many cases I'm travelling for work and my flight has already been paid for by the company brIs that (logging actually traveled miles) the same deal as in credit card miles or are they different? Thanks again Comment from : Mo Sapel-ElKhateeb |

But what if I:br-Use a card with no annual fee, of a card that has a full/partial refund policy on annual fees if you have a minimum amount of money spent every month, and reach this minimum by paying for utility bills (money you would have spent anyway, even with cash)br-Actually take a few hours to book that "impossible" flight yourself, instead of paying a guru to do itbr-Always pay on time and have an emergency fund to avoid interestbr-Have a budget to avoid overspending just for the sake of getting card milesbrThis is what I do and have redeemed miles for 3 flights so far The only hidden cost that's debatable is the time wasted booking the flight But you could do it while you wait for your card to get fixed or something that would make you lose time anyways lol Card miles work only if you do Comment from : cyberden667 |

I don't have a travel card cuz im still in college, even tho I do plan on getting one when im older Having said that, I paid all my previous trips with cash back I sent to my savings account Thanks to you stupid credit card users Comment from : Zerajnim Egroj |
There's not a single person out there that got rich from credit card reward programs But there is a time that it is worth it Corporate cards If you have a corporate card that you can upgrade, even for a fee, to one with rewards, it is worth it I spend a little over $500/week on my hotel, a little over $215 on transportation (car service and Amtrak), plus whatever meals through the week - I'm racking up nearly $4,000 in expenses per month Last year, I spent nearly $60K on my corporate card This is money that I HAD to spend to travel to client sites and it was really spending company money but I got the points Otherwise, it is best to just bankroll everything Like the video said, it is a psychological thing Even if you spend just 5 less due to the "pain" associated with spending cash, you're saving more than you would be getting Believe me, you can't outsmart the credit card companies They have this figured out Comment from : Darrell Lee |
So that's why they are so hell-bent on banning cash, to stimulate (wasteful) spending & consumption Comment from : James Handaja |
