My path Amiga Basic -> ARexx -> Batch -> HTML+JS+SSI (dhtml) -> php + mysql (LAMP) -> perl+gtk -> Delphi/Pascal + PL/SQL and ANSI C for hardware -> C++ and C# -> Python because that's what most in-house use todaybrbrIt feels like a downgrade, but by understanding all the other languages and concepts, there are really not many things that can topple me over

Everybody shows how you'll get a great job or money, but the thing to focus on is actually what you'll do from learning to code, what will you build, how are you gonna make the world better, or solve problems, that should be the thing to focus on and achieve Otherwise everyone is learning to code to get an average job where they just do the tasks they're told to do, with only dissatisfaction in the end

ChatGPT and the like won't make you a programmer, but if you actually both to learn programming the traditional way (courses - not college though), you will go from prompter, to coder to (if you wish, not so much a requirement these days) a full fledged programmer GPT4 and with the new plugin Code Interpreter, is the best tutor you can have and available to you 24/7 at a very honest and worth it price Even if you don't want to follow a career in programming it can still help you automate boring parts of your work and life

For those who want to go the C route, I recommend two books: brbr"C: from Theory to Practice" by Tselikis and Tselikas It's fast paced and contains tons of solved and unsolved problems brbr"C Primer Plus" by Stephen Prata Has fewer exercises but more through explanations
