Well haha it's for this very reason I stopped worrying about dirt and liquid on my UBC's <--- scrap yard calls them that, non returnable in my state The rest I go for the deposit But ya that made me laugh and I now know what the CRV means on the containers I find it odd that California has their own thing going on when it comes to the deposits printed on the containers Like there's no reason for it lol! If you put anything in, it should be only smaller aluminium items like foil seals off top of tins, clean & crushed aluminium coffee capsules Get your neighbours to save them up and give them to you to add to your cans These small items would normally fall through the filters of majority of Material Recycling Facilities (MRFs) if simply tossed into recycle bins Because the MRFs use an eddy current to sort out aluminium, it works perfectly - NO cheating required!!
