Internet data is expensive Some parents lost their jobs, no more income definitely not the students fault if they didn't turn into my class I get it Sometimes only half of the students in my class attend to their 80 minutes science class It's not the attitude, it's the money, to buy food or to buy internet data It's so sad They had to choose food over virtual learning

They should call it distance schooling Most schools don't actually teach, they just focus on testing and the standardization of information using memorization in a robot-like, and archaic, way Soya knowwe failed br This pandemic would have been a good time to just STOP the school year and allow the recreation and reform of the system as a whole To allow for more diverse standards (based on what individual locations and kids need, and how the funding would be distributed) That way we could kick off with a bang after the pandemic "ends" and people are vaccinated br Butno, we just kept going like a car with a missing tire scraping along the highway because we can't let kids "fall behind" Fall behind on what? Reading Romeo and Juliette? Finding out more about animal and plant cells? People learn in different ways at different paces, but obviously, nobody cares 🙄 If they did, they would take the time to fix everything And, before anyone yells about budgeting, the US spends more on education than most of the developed worldbut we get the worst results It doesn't matter if you spend big bucks if those dollars are being poorly spent (Mostly on testing and to paying "non-profit" billion-dollar industries and private companies like Pearson) brbrIt's so sad that not even a pandemic made people realize how useless the overall system of standardized schooling has become 😥I hope one day people actually care about kids and what we are doing to them They are people too

Online works for me but I guess that's because I have a nice home life For people who have alot of negative distractions at home I can understand why people don't like it For me my grades are much higher

I don't think online learning is bad per see I think the delivery and the attitude of the teachers are just poor, that causes online learning to be suck Most of the teachers, I am saying all, simply teach in a class because it is part of their job in a university Even before online classrooms, most lecturers already perfect the skills in automotive delivery of materials and teachs materials without the need of understanding how to enhance learning outcomes The effect of online learning simply heighten this effect to a new level because students could no longer group in person, question the lecturers after class to clarify their questions The lack of creation of interests, lack of motivation to help students to understand the materials, lack of the awareness of the materials they are delivering are the real reason why online learning sucks

The advantage is kids become tech savvy My daughter is six and I'm very impressed The downsides are isolation, attention span, the teachers- me, I trained to repair and make things not to teach And an unfair two tier education system where those that have the latest gadgets will be fine, those that dont, or cant afford them due to the fact your job was sacrificed to protect people from a virus with a less than 1 mortality rate, well it's going to be tough Getting used tech helps though I had to get a used laptop for a decent price The kindle wouldn't run microsoft teams, nor could I mirror I lost my job due to illness in 2018 before the "Johnson gambit" move was done so I was readily in position to teach my kid Some will have trouble transitioning I know I did when I lost my job, I was saving for a new motorcycle but since I lost my license due to same illness I got my finances in shape and kept a roof over our heads

It's more than just child care for the parents and scheduling Children are missing out on the social interaction with other children which is a huge part of their development and mental health We have an only child who lives in a remote neighborhood with no other children around Remote learning is isolating our kids, and COVID is worth the risk to send them back to school
