Andrew Haynberg
For the Bilt card , the 1x points on rent is already included in 1x for all other purchases The marketing makes it seem like the best card for earning points on rent but wouldn't any card that you earn 1x on all purchases be just as good Or is earning 1x points on all purchases not very common and that's why it's good for paying rent with rent is by far my biggest expense and I would love to save money where I can thanks for the help great vid

Belijem Ezeomedo
HONESTLY, WHAT I'D RECOMMEND FOR MINORS (UNDER 18) ARE DEBIT CARDS, DEBIT CARDS DON'T WORK WITH DEBT BUT IT WITHDRAWS THE MONEY DIRECTLY FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT THAT'S VERY GOOD FOR CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY TO MANAGE A CREDIT CARD SO DEBIT IS SIMPLY BETTER
Comment from : Belijem Ezeomedo

carson
What’s the difference between the 2 variants of the discover it card? Or which is better
Comment from : carson

Spencer Ross
I had a secure card from my bank in my own name before I was 18 Pretty sure you just have to have someone over 18 sign the contract with you as you can't legally sign anything as a minor but it was in my own name and only impacted my credit score Likely through a bank you bank with as well, and probably only a secure line But regardless, you do not have to be 18brbrEdit: AU's do not help that much with credit either From personal experience, adding someone as an AU for 2 years and Credit Score was still only 650 CK and all those apps show it being higher, but an actual hard pull will not yield the results you think
Comment from : Spencer Ross

Carson Brown
I’m 19 Was an authorized user from 15 I have 4 credit cards and a 780 credit score I treat them like debit cards I will never use my credit card without checking my bank account balance beforehand I pay them off immediately when the purchase is posted Usually making 5-10 payments to each company each statement period I know I could wait to pay it off at the end but I prefer to pay each purchase off as soon as it’s postedbrEdit: I’m not in school either I’m a HVAC apprentice getting into the trades, so I am not racking up any student debt Getting paid to learn my career which is… amazing lolbrFor those wondering I have the Citi custom cash, discover it, BILT, and the REI credit card I’m an avid hiker and outdoor person so a lot of dis regionally spending goes towards them Got my skis for half off since I bought other gear from them
Comment from : Carson Brown

Joey
Why does everyone in the age of 18-21 have 4-6 cards? That is just absurd
Comment from : Joey

BudtenderEd
When you mention if a card does not give you a retention offer that you should "Move on", do you suggest closing the card so you don't have to pay the annual fee? Or is it better to keep that card open? Also, I got a secured credit card when I was 18, I'm now 26, howevever I still have the account open because it is my oldest line of credit It's best practice to keep that line open for that reason, correct?
Comment from : BudtenderEd

Atticus Smith
I am 18 and going to be starting college in the next 2 weeks and currently have the American Express Gold card (My Aunt added me to her AE account or something I'm not really sure how that works to give me this card) and I am going to be using that card 99 of the time for my semester costs for college What card should I look to build towards next once I have established my line of credit?

Alexander Lin
One of the best decisions I made was getting a higher-end travel rewards card instead of a student card when I started university, the minimum income requirement was 15k CAD, with a $150 annual fee I paid for pretty much everything on that card After 2/3 years (and not being able to travel during covid) I had racked up so much points that it paid for almost all the flights I took during my exchange program in my senior year Got to travel to 5/6 other countries over 6 months and it was pretty much free of cost to me This would not have been possible if I used a student card
Comment from : Alexander Lin

I've had 2 credit cards and I literally used them just for basic groceries and the occasional pc part, and had auto payment on each month 6 years later, I'm at a 700 credit scoreand best partI have no use for it😂 don't even live within the US anymore, and not like I need to put myself in debt with any large loansbrbrSo yes, I fully believe credit score is a scambecause if you need loans on the first placeno way you'll have a 600+ score anyways
