What I have come to do personally is to complete a sea fort, and wait there once finished This is because once the fort is finished, no enemies EXCEPT for ancient skeletons can spawn

On my first day of sea of thieves I was on an island and I heard the clanging of the coins I had no ammo and was really low hp and I thought it was a boss skeleton spawning so I ran back to my ship and when I found out what it was I was so angry 😢

Only one I've ever seen was on Thieves Heaven I was running back to my ship and just reached the beach when I heard the sound and franticly looked around It spawned a short ways up a hill

I feel like me and the mrs have been real lucky Never hunted for them and had about 7 that gave enough for barbosa costume in the store and 2 pets one of which was a more expensive collectible one Played for around 6 month and genuinly just plodding along with no real aim 😅😂 feel like the games acting abit odd recently had a team keeo coming back to spoik our fishing and fail but at the same time skele ships were spawning and megs we were near a fort minding our own business 😝

I've actually had the opposite experience I've had 4 ancient skeletons in 160hrs of play time, and 3 of them were when I was screwing around on random islands doing things like gold-hoarder stashes or skeleton orders The last one was on a seafort just after clearing it Also none of them spawned in place of another skeleton in a normal spawn, they all arrived on their own with no triggering event or other skeletons brbrThey were also all while solo-slooping, despite 80 of my playtime being on 4 player galleons with friends

i was doing thieves haven runs with my friends on a brig/galleon for 6 days and i got 8 ancient skeletons back to back within that time and came out with almost 1000 ancient coins from it idk if its boosted or just luck but would suggest doing thieves haven runs

Hey, nice Videos! keep up the great work 👍 I had one spawn on me right as I finished a sea fort nearly missed it with all the musical chimes and stuff 😅 but in the end it is a very distinctive noise these guys make while spawning 😋 but never seen a sign of a normal skeleton at these phantom sea forts, though don't know if that helps your theory or not 😅😅

Me and my friend are not that experienced in the game yet <150 hours playtime, we were doing some chilling grinding for pirate legend, going from fortress to fortress, just those basic fortresses, heard a noise coming from behind me, both of us super confused, he asked me what that noise was and I obviously didn't know, turned around and this guy was running around, he immediately reacted and told me I needed to kill it because it's rare and gives coinsbrI don't think I've killed anything faster than this poor skeleton

I always like to see different methods of finding ancient skeletons but whenever I see a video I always remember I found one within my first hour of playing and I barely knew what it was I've also found two in one ashen winds event after the boss spawned them

I've found 7, only one of which was an ancient fortune (200-400 coins) It was on Kraken's Fall, while looking for the vault entrance The rest were ancient stashes My first stash was on Plunder Valley, while doing The Art of the Trickster tall tale Two of the stashes were on sea fortresses, one in the middle of the waves and one while loading the loot to harpoon it onto my ship One stash was found while just sitting on Sailor's Bounty while just sitting around at the end of my session, wishing one would spawn Another was on a regular island, I forget which I also forget where the other one was, but I know it must have been on an island, perhaps Plunder Valley again brbrI haven't spent much time on sea fortresses, and since 2 out of my 7 have been found on those, I would say there is some truth to those carrying increased rates I have never found one on a skeleton fort, though as it is said, it is incredibly random That's my experience with these funny skellies (I have a little over 400 hours in game for reference)

I can say having only gotten 12 ancient skellies with 1,500 hours and 6 of those having come from community day increased spawn rates 2 in a single day is insanely good To add on to this even more 4/6 of those skellies spawned on a fort during that single community day so this further proves the theory If Rare continues these community day increase spawn rates definitely do forts and fortresses if you want ancient coins If you want gold as well stack fotds since they’re way easier

ERROR: I had one spawn on a phantom fortress While this is PvE it's NOT a spot skeletons can spawnbrIt was durring that last community thing where they promised to flood us with them, but I think maybe your rule of them being restricted to random spawn item is perhaps NOT correct unless the special event involved a seporate spawn system rather than a simple rate increase

We were 3 found one while we doing souls voyages it was tire 3 gift us 600 but how we got is funny we were selling and all of the sudden our ship despawn did not scuttle it's just despawn but we have the loot but lost the emissary flag lvl 5 and we cant even pick the flag we were very sad 1 of us gone to check where the ship gone with mermaid when he spawned at the island it respawned next to him exactly he instantly killed it and with that all of us got 600 its like the game saying sorry about what happened here is a gift xDThank god and thanks Rare

My first ancient skeleton is most embarrassing one Because i was a noob i knew little about game and one time after completing ghost fortress ancient skeleton sound started and i got scared yeaaaaah found out later when another one spawned at similar situation what a waste it was Also not counting that increased temporary spawn rate i got one at Fort of the Damned and two at Devil's Thirst during time when i was grinding for ashen curse

I’ve only found 3 ancient skeletons in my time on the seas back when forts megs and krakens were the only big things, 2 of them I found on the shores of gold while getting my gold curse and the third was in the cove in the very bottom left portion of the map

Best place I've found skeletons were actually a place skeletons cannot spawn regularly I used to find ancient skeletons semi frequently in arena on the different islands
