I tell people exactly the same thing, it's a hobby that makes me money where most people's hobbies cost them money The thrill of the hunt is a huge factor as well Lastly, if one wants to be successful in the long run, approach your business like an investor, not a speculator I've probably squandered a couple of grand on items thinking somebody out there would think it was cool and buy it only to have it sit and collect dust for years A little speculating probably won't hurt, and may even pay off, but investing is buying things with a proven track record of bringing good returns Best of luck to all

One person I know sources every day, but has entire warehouse of stuff That doesn't seem like good business practice I fell into the trap of buy 2 books, get one free The third book, possibly the free one, was one of the worst condition books I've ever seen Cover reattached, Ex-library checked out for at least ten years Not repairable and barely readable No wonder it was shipped in a thin plastic bag

I just found your channel I love it!!! I’ve been retired for just over a year and have way to many books, most unread As I approach geezerdom, like my wife says I don’t want our kids to be burdened with our “stuff” In my case, many many books All pretty much great condition varying genres Anything with a dust jacket has a Brodart cover on it If the DJ’s are torn or creased I use a tacking iron to smooth them out I use P90 tape on any tears I need to figure out where to find good boxes, and when to ship in a box I’m not a fan of padded envelopes I’ve seen what USPS can do to them I need to peruse your videos for proper packing etc I think like many grading books can be tricky?? I’m so afraid that customers may have a different opinion on what’s “as new” vs “very good” I have tried finding local classes at community colleges to see if a class is being offered for this very subject It doesn’t seem to be so here I am Sorry for being a jabber box I want to be sure the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t an oncoming freight train I will try to check your videos like I say See you in the next installment

I make myself list what i bring home, before I head out again to source Just that one rule has taken me from $60 gross sales in August on Ebay, to $2400 net income from Ebay in November!
