I play in senior leagues and on scrambles The amount of cheating and disregard for rules is disheartening Putts given in stroke play, 16 club bags, redos, and even guys who give themselves putts after missing them Some guys even practice putts once they are on the green

In a big event regular scramble where there is BIG cash on the line it's typically two (teams) foursomes a hole So 8 guys play together to make sure there's no cheating It's the only way to get legit scores

Played in the VW sponsored national scramble in Australia 1st round is club level 1 of the teams posted a gross 57 (-15) nett 51 with their 1/8th combined handicap They shot 15 birdies and 3 pars Daylight and 61gross was 2nd place 1st place was the most impressive scramble score I have ever seen Our team had a 68gross thought we did ok finished about 6th last

I love modified shamble format but it sure can make for a long day Scores are more reasonable even with a stacked team vs a regular scrambles, especially those that allow mulligans, string or fwd tees and pencil whippingbrbrSee you rolling that Good Good putter

I never play these tournaments with the expectation of competition Too many cheaters, and too little verification Last one I played the team ahead of us won @ -17 but we watched them get 4 pars and 0 eagles My count from watching them was -9, with very little doubt including what appeared to be 6 2nd attempts from one guy despite no mulligans being in playbrbrI just play for fun to see how well I can do

In that format I'd say 16 under is really good I'm happy in a 4-person scramble to be at -13 or so Heck, one time our team won a 4-person scramble with a -7 Drizzly and about 40 degrees, and no cheaters in tournament

Technically if Tournament is Handicap based you have too many Ringers It is the teams with the so called High Handicappers that magically plays like a single digit for Tournament
