I think Canada mint a big gold coin Comment from : Michael Mallal |

All the manipulation of financers, bankers, govt spending, wall street, investors, etc, etc are the causes of this financial mess The tax payers pay their taxes while the govt robs us left, right and center, prints billions of cash, gives it to other countries, while they live high on the hog Of course a lot of people spend money frivolously, too, but tax payers should not be the ones who have to suffer Financial spending and corruption should be stopped, but it's too far out of control We'll all get to suffer the consequences together! Yay! Comment from : rose blue |

A Trillion Dollar Coin? Why does Zimbabwe comes to mind when I hear that? Comment from : Alastair Winston |
Just because they say it's worth 1 trillion, doesn't mean it is It's about confidence and making you believe that's what it's worth If it has no physical value, it is worth what people believe it is And the the dollar isn't worth the paper it's printed on Comment from : Hunty49 |
Just print more Comment from : Gene Au |
Why bother? Just get a piece of paper and write $1 trillion on it Either is fake anyway Comment from : H Tran |
Minting the coin seems like the equivalent of accounting fraud The debt ceiling is not the problem, it is a symptom that can only be managed by borrowing more money The problem is government spending and a budget deficient Borrowing more money and going further into debt devalues the dollar but creating some trillion dollar coin seems like it would make the dollar worthless While they basically do the same thing one buys time and the other seems instant Although I have no idea what I'm talking about I can barely file my own taxes or change my oil correctly I would love if someone could explain this better to me Comment from : Nivek G |

Couldn't they make this "coin" in paper instead ?brBecause that's all it isbrLike Bitcoin, it's round like a coin it's colour is Yellow like Gold and it's hard money like M Kieser says Comment from : Moota Moonta |
If the biden administration doesn't want to use this than it may actually be a good idea but why not say "F it" and print a 100 trillion dollar coin Seems like there are no repercussions, or did I not pay attention to that part or was it intentionally left out 🤔 Comment from : Bauce |
Notice that the UK is not controlled by the EU and does not have this problem, because its parliament is sovereign and can pass any law that it wants, the EU theoretically cant do this , its constitution wont allow it , but the ECJ found a loophole , this sort of manipulation is unlikely to succeed in the USA court for political reasons ,but its constitution needs to be changed to allow for a debt ceiling change as occurs in just about every other country The actual act of raising the debt ceiling , and you can help me out here Ramin, would be like the Fed crediting its reserves , yes just a book entry on a computer, so that the bond interest and all other expenses can be met If the rise in the debt ceiling ( borrowings) is too much it would cause inflation , and sets a sort of budget constraint on Congress Comment from : gary symons |
Why not a 25 trillion coin? If this works why not just wipe almost all the debt out? Comment from : Mat D |

Any time that you compare a country's economy to a Jenga tower, you should stop and reflect on the reality that it was not built on a firm foundation This idea that we can simply stamp "One TRILLION DOLLARS" on a piece of metal and solve all of our problems transcends simple lunacy and steps arrogantly into the realm of farce Ask yourself this: why just one coin? Why not just mint 29 of them? Why not give one to every American? Think of all the problems it would solve if we just gave everyone in America a trillion dollars to pay their bills!!! Of course it wouldn't work, and it won't work with a trillion dollar coin, eitherbrbrHere's another question Why don't poor countries just print the money they need so that they aren't poor anymore? Seems pretty obvious, right? Just print a bunch of money and give it to the people directly and they can all afford new cars and iPhones and mansions It doesn't work All you end up doing is making the money worthless, as has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME IT IS TRIED Comment from : J Barnes |
So Your "solution" is to not fix anything and just print another trillion dollars? Overall, not a bad video I thought you did a good job of showcasing and explaining the information But just printing more money is only going to kick the problem down the road So maybe you don't have to deal with a dip in the economy, but your kids and grandkids will have to deal with it brbrThis economy is fixable But people need to get real and make real suggestions Here are some:brbr1 Simplify the tax code to get rid of the major loop-holes Billionaires and Major Corporations are taking advantage of Primarily, stop issuing tax credits for losses You lost a million dollars on a bad investment? Okay, it is what it is You don't get a tax break, because you don't pay taxes on losses Only on gains br2 Fix government medical spending by fixing the way medicare/medicaid are billed Repeal obamacare (bringing premiums back down to pre-obamacare levels (200-300 percent reduction))- and pay out medicaid visits on the same fee-schedule as medicare patients The whole problem obamacare was "trying" to fix is medicaid patients can't get into the Dr's office half the year Dr's are completely happy to see medicare patients, so they don't have the same problem If you simply pay on the same fee-schedule the problem is solved It would save our country hundreds of billions of dollars br3 Stop paying private insurance companies to handle medicare/medicaid patients We pay a flat fee (it's different for each state and contract) of like $5,000/year per head to have private medical insurance companies manage patients that only actually use about $2,300/year of coverage These are contracts worth hundreds of billions of dollars There's no way it's a good deal for the government Kill those contracts and hire more billing people to work for medicare/medicaid directlybr4 Put an official hard cap on military spending Make it a percentage of the US GDP Whatever the number 4 for example (That's pretty close to where we are now 800 billion military budget vs 21 trillion GDP) The military budget will grow as long as the countries GDP continues to grow But you won't get these stupid random budget increases for shit we don't need They will have to work inside of their budget brbrThere's a LOT more I could go into But that's a solid start Comment from : Brice Wilson |
The US can default on CCP and federal reserve debt without any consequences Comment from : Tyrel Wehner |
Might as well mint a Gazillion dollar coin Comment from : Jon |

How come the growth curve of US debt appears to be a straight line going up from 2010 through 2021, instead of the sigmoid curve as often seen in growth curves, such as the growth curve of Covid-19 deaths in the US from Feb 2020 through Sep 2021? Comment from : lexneuron |

What a joke! Why don’t they make a few trillion dollar coins and give everyone some? Comment from : MAHAMAYA |
A disaster: if someone who cannot spend/allocate money wisely cannot borrow more money to pay off the interest they cannot afford Kind of makes a mockery of all the govt backed programs and infomercials about irresponsible gambling, and drinking and drug habitsbrHow about the govt taste some of their own medicine for once And this disaster…let’s see if all the institutions that exist that we praise are good enough to handle the fallout Calls of “disaster” are pure radical hype from Nostradamus Me, I see maybe more humble valuations on housing and less jet skis, and 4 car homes and investment properties and holiday homes…I don’t call that a disaster! Comment from : Aname |
I think its safe to say every each one of the people in position to solve this "problem" have majority of their net worth in real estate and equities, so you can rest assured they will do everything in their power to keep the status quo, its all just an act, and we all know how its gonna end Comment from : Dariune |
