Today me and my cousin were discussing about online home schooling plans available in India for 15+ year kids, concluding that "Let a child learn on their own pace" We actually have kids of Kylie and Mia ages and were surprised to see parents rushing out for these plans, forcing activities of writing/reading in such a tender agebrbrGive a slice of everything to taste, let them choose what they wish to have Is what we wish to do Comment from : Crazy Mom |

Hi Thank you so so much for the video I have been looking for this for a long time So grateful to have found you! I had a doubt, in one to one correspondence , do we count with the kid? For instance she is putting 6 bean bags int the muffin tin, so do I count till 6 with her? Thank you so much for your time God bless your family Comment from : Spandana Grandhi |
Love your fantastic ideas how to bring counting and numbers into the home Both of our girls attend a Montessori pre-school and they learn incredible life skills Absolutely love this approach :) Comment from : Baby Sleep Team |
Though Montessori method for Maths is really great, I think we can always add something "new" For me it was a sort of a revelation the KUMON method Their worksheets are so wonderful, and the kids just ADORE it (proven by my own daughter!) In the USA there are a huge range of these worksheets, and it is awesome! You can choose exactly what you child needs at the moment (it starts for kids from 3 yo to depending on the country where you live) And it is not only about Maths 😍 Comment from : Anastasia Davy |
I totally agree with you younger children learn through play Comment from : Erika’s Learning Resources |

Can you share your bilingual experience in the household? What are your views on this? Any resources that you use? As I notice in one of the vlogs that Mike read a book in Mandarin, Chinese I'm Malaysian, Chinese Australian and my partner is from the UK - we communicate in English and my Mandarin is verrrry basic but I love to incorporate Mandarin in conversation for our kids in the near future Comment from : Stephanie |

This video could not have come at a better time, my daughter will be 2 next month and she is counting everything, the flowers in the garden, the steps, her toys Now she only knows in order up to three, but she says random numbers anyway, it’s so funny 😀 Comment from : Ágnes Kun Gazda |
How old is she? Comment from : Zulpiye berqut |
This video was so necessary for me, I've NEVER been good at anything that has to do with numbers, so the math part is kinda daunting when it comes to teaching my little girl Thank you!brbrBtw, my little girl who's almost 1, is a big fan of your's! I usually watch your videos in the evening so she gets excited when she hears ur voice Comment from : Claudia Nallely Santamaria |
I’m sure you might often hear that children might not learn consequences with this style of learning where you don’t point out their mistakes Is there a particular age that is appropriate for them to learn that they will encounter people pointing out their mistakes? Especially where our children will go to a regular school Comment from : Jess E |
I always look forward to your videos! Comment from : jessica kula |
Thank you for this video Looking forward to doing the activities with my littles! Comment from : Valerie Broersma |
Thank you Ashley, it was informative and helpful as always 💕 I have a question and i think most of the parents come across this problem Does Kylie ever lie? If she does, what do you do? What is the right approach? What is the right respond? Is there anything to do? Can you make a video about this matter? Or you can just mention it in one of your videos if it is something short I really don't know what to do :( Thank you so much for everything 🌺❤ Comment from : Elif Demir |
Great video!!!! Lots of inspiration!!!! Thank you! 👏 Comment from : Andreea Anton |

Hi Ashley, thanks for another great video! I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a video about the differences/similarities between Montessori and RIE approaches? I’m a part-time reliever at an ECE centre and a lot of the teachers really love RIE and dislike Montessori, which is confusing for me because my understanding of the approaches is that they’re quite similar I would love to have it laid out in a video so I could discuss with them the similarities/differences a bit more clearly! Comment from : Elizabeth Macken |
Phenomenal! Thank you for this! I just love the natural approach to activities with items and materials around the house This may be a silly question (and maybe other parents can relate) but how young can you start these activities? My 20 month old has an insatiable appetite for learning, particularly math and language She knows all her triangles, rounds, parallelograms and polygons! Well before my desire to teach them lol We plan on sending her to a Montessori preschool at 3yo but I worry we’ll teach incorrectly or too prematurely and ruin the Montessori magic at school We have sandpaper numbers and letters but I do recall your recommendation in prior videos to not replicate materials from a Montessori preschool if you plan on sending your child to one It’s an awesome tough spot to be in but she’s at this tender age and I want to approach academia appropriately Thank you!! As always, you’re fabulous!! ❤️ Comment from : Haniyyah Ahmad Bonvini |

Any advice on puzzles? My two year old daughter is going to be there July She has been working on 4 piece puzzles for awhile I got her Melissa snd Doug ones, she got bored of that so I bought her a bigger 4 piece She hasn’t been super interested in doing it I hope she progresses past the 4 piece soon because it says that three year olds can do up to 15 pieces! Maybe she will have an interest in a few months She gets frustrated fast and gives up, she can do it if she kept trying Comment from : A R |

It's important to become fluent in basic arithmetic, even, just to live life and perform tasks I recall doing things, like baking pies to learn fractions, was often a sore point for fathers who considered it too new age-y Math and language skills are crucial to all learning and they need to be learned from foundations all the way through to reaching for the stars There are good and bad ways to learn, but there is no short-cut to getting the foundations solid and building upon them There are no tricks for just getting through a test and not remembering what you were supposed to have learned But there are ways to learn smart and have fun It is a huge gift from Dr Montessori that she gave us an outline of when children's brains are ready to address certain topics, concepts so that we are not trying to force them to learn something for which they are not yet ready nor are we neglecting stimuli appropriate to their level of development Congrats on the handsome new product And thanks for the links to it Comment from : Philippa Pay |
I was just wondering how to start on counting as my daughter has been showing an interest, so this video is God sent! (Right down to the disclamer that I shouldn’t be worrying about it) My daughter is Mia’s age and enjoys reciting the numbers so the early counting activity ideas are great! Comment from : Orracle C |
How come someone dislike this video, it was really informative and helpful Comment from : Paty Morán |

I also got some good ideas for my 2,5 yo son He just started counting to himself in his play with all the wrong numbers It's very cute though ☺️brI also love counting things out loud when we go through our day For example when unloading the dishwasher or counting the stones that they collected outside brbrThe tracing board Mike made is beautiful! |
I was always worried watching my brother grow up He was actually behind compared to his peers Flash forward to highschool, somehow he was a straight A student, graduated with a semester of college competed and overall thrived Moral of the story, be patient It’ll work out Comment from : GeeGee _ |

I never realized how Montessori my kindergarten class was until I started watching your videos a few months ago! From the shelving to wooden materials to resolving taking turns with other kids by myself, everything had a structure that made it so organized It was so appealing to me when I was starting to learn English at 4/5 before I had to move I’m turning 24 next month and have no kids but my mom babysits toddlers so those Montessori & Me tracing boards would be a great start for them to get comfortable holding a pencil But at the same timeHaha, those boards are calling to me Comment from : Leslie Nguyen |
Thanks for the video Ashley, as usual it's so interesting & helpful 💞💞 Comment from : Cjr Rob |

Maybe one day Mike can go full time "Montessori and Me" Is that a goal or does he love his current job anyways? Thanks for all your advice My 2 year old is going to LOVE his DIY sandpaper numbers and letters! ❤ Comment from : Megan Ball |
You are not looking well Are you ok ?? Comment from : Kailash Mendiratta |
Math in Montessori is what absolutely sold me on the method The trinomial cube blew my mind! I had a very traditional experience with it, enjoying it when a teacher was passionate about it, and indifferent when the teacher was too My brother entered Montessori absolutely not interested in Math and only gravitating towards language But with the help of the teacher in the class and the Montessori materials, he became so passionate about it! Now he is in high school, his hobby is playing with formulas in excel (😮) and is interested in accounting or programming in college Oh and for fun, he still likes to sit around and read books or research random facts His Montessori upbringing is so very evident!
