The corrosion is mainly copper hydroxide I think In such cases, judicial cleaning with a proprietary coin cleaner would be beneficial and you have nothing to lose really anyway

I have a 1967 thruppeny bit What’s it worth? It’s clean, clear, fully legible, has some patina & only a pinprick sized bit of black on it These were my favourite coins I also have a 1940 silver thrupenny bit
