Actually, what you said about Charles Guiteau is grossly inaccurate Guiteau assassinated James Garfield because he believed God told him to do so, wanted to unite his parties, and promote the sales of his book The term "disappointed office-seeker" was used by The Puck due to their blind outrage against Guiteau They refused to see him as insane, which he very much was, to find him guilty They downgraded his reasoning as well to avoid speculation of insanity and to cause empathy for the vile assassin
