Wanted to open up this old roll of Morgan Silver Dollars to see what coins we had inside I won this roll on an auction for $1,405 which was more than I would normally pay for an unknown roll, but it did have a nice Carson City (CC) end coin so I went for it

Hey Rob, preciate all you add for the hobby & the community in whole Enjoy your contentbrI've not been collecting/hunting coins but for only couple years now but from my understanding & what Lil I have learned in this short time, Morgan's & peace dollars never came in rolls is what I have been told Again, not sure but if not, I'm just wondering how these "rolls" actually come about Appreciate any input on this as I have been perplexed by this for quite some time Comment from : Kylerkopter |
Rob, you are such an asset to the coin hunting community! I have been tempted by these roles, but I really can’t afford it Thank you so much for showing us this experience and sharing it with everyone! Comment from : EnigmaCoinCollector |
It’s really great the effort old timers put into dipping, and cleaning coins before they rolled them to be stored for years People today should take the same care Comment from : 1964 quarter! |
That was a great looking roll of Morgans Comment from : Gina R |
They have all been searched They are all common dates they put the cc at the end t drive up the bid Never ever gonna find something The people selling these know exactly what they’re doing And it’s evil Comment from : Thomas 85 |
My folks always used to say that there is no free lunch The kind of offers like the one you purchased are usually much worse yhan your tesults Often there are many more duplicates, often common The fact that you did not lose money is a happy occurrence In my opinion, the only time opportunities like this are worth the gamble is when you can afford to lose the entire investment It is a shame we cannot walk back in time to find treasure from years ago Nevertheless the service you provide is interesting but not necessarily repeatable Comment from : Charles Roof |
Rob,
brI recently came upon your YouTube videos I am finding them very informative and enjoyable to watch Especially when you are doing the coin roll searches My question is what do you do with the coins that you don't keep Do you re-roll them and return them to the bank? Thank you for the videos and keep up the good work Happy hunting!! Comment from : Blazin Dad |
Thanx for doing this one I've always wondered if those old rolls are made to look old and I get suspicious when the ender is a CC Comment from : sfkimrush |

I'm surprised you actually tried this! These Morgan rolls are some of the most dubious items on eBay! Though, I'm certain you went into this with your eyes wide open! I'm not sure if I've ever actually seen a video of someone opening an 'unsearched' roll of Morgans (or wheat cents, for that matter) and finding all sorts of great finds That might be even more suspicious!! Comment from : CAD Roll Hunter |
Fun opening Rob Nice to see all that shine Happy Hunting! Stephen Comment from : Stephen Bates |
