When you think about electric cars becoming a higher of cars on the roadseventually the demand for gasoline will drop enoughcausing the prices to dropcausing people to go back to driving their gas/diesel powered vehicles It's all about what's cheaper so for people like my wife and I living on a small fixed income a desire for cleaner air will never outweigh our need to drive cheaply Comment from : Chris Beard |

Manufacturers better wise up before conventional vehicle prices go sky high An all-electric lineup does not offer what most people want or need Once the Porsche Synthetic Fuel project takes off and becomes economically viable, the "green grift" of electric cars won't be as effective brbrAffluent city folks who want short, autonomous trips that don't pollute, do what you like Just please don't claim to take the moral high ground for choosing to live a way that others cannot, or dislike People who live in cold rural areas need a tried and true technology that won't fail them in the cold, or leave them broke or stranded (Provided the vehicle is well maintained)brbrElectric cars aren't there yet, and just assuming they will be by the time they shut down the petrol car assembly lines is a mistake Comment from : Beau Johnson |

I've been driving a 2011 Nissan Leaf for about 10 years The battery had lost a significant part of it's range after I left it in the garage 4 months thinking it would be safer there When winter was over and I went to start the car I had to recharge the "starter" battery and found the drive battery in good condition But the range was significantly reduced leading to my quest to find a newer used battery I got lucky and found a 2nd generation battery with 90 life on eBay for $2000 with installation included That breathed life into my car and I'm happy with it But "range anxiety" is a constant concern In the winter I can go about 30 miles with the heater off, less with it on In the summer I can go about 45 miles, less with the A/C on Comment from : Don H |
|

While I like your points to which I agree, I hate having to think gas prices can be controlled politically by big countries Small countries like ours, who don’t produce gasoline are fckd to the T and we can’t do anything about it It’s like a bully flipping you off everyday but you have to give them your money to have a safe passage at school 😖😖 Comment from : podster12II |

What's TruebrbrChild labor has been used in cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Cobalt is a chemical element used to make rechargeable batteriesbrbrWhat's FalsebrbrHowever, cobalt is not used exclusively for electric car batteries This chemical element is also used to make the rechargeable batteries in phones, tablets, and laptops Electric car manufacturers, such as Tesla and BMW, have started to use ethically sourced cobalt from areas outside of the DRCbrbrThe use of child labor in cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where nearly 60 of the world's cobalt is currently produced, is certainly a major issue that deserves the attention of consumers, corporations, and governments However, some media outlets and social media users have distorted the issue into a rallying cry against the use of electric cars and clean energy Comment from : Agent Diabolicus |
