Yeah, if only TRUE DOUBLING is worth anything, and so rare why bother to even look, beside all the controversy on coin cleaning and double dies why collect, it just to much politics These/facts/opinions take all of the fun out of collecting, just leave collecting to the scientist I suppose!!!!! Comment from : charles |
So basically anything besides a "True Dbl" is worthless such as Vam peace/morgan dollars ect, That's really sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I don't believe it Comment from : charles |

Very good video, I once bought a 1916 over 1916 Buffalo Nickel real cheap at a coin show, I didn't take a long time looking When I got home I compared it to a picture of the real deal and my coin was different I learned it was machine doubling, I didn't lose on the deal because I paid for a regular 1916, I was excited at first till I realized the truth Thanks for sharing Comment from : Kenneth Caine |

Bkgd music is distracting Also, your narrative does not match up with photos I would like to know why a 'true' DD is worth more than a 'mechanically doubled' coin They are both ERROR coins And what many of these explanations on YT fail to mention is that there CAN BE a double-die within a mechanically doubled coin I have been searching coins for several years and have found many coins having die wear They are still errors I understand a coin with die wear can be/is worth less than a 'true' DD But the coin is still, IMO, collectible if the error(s) is/are significant Die gouges & die cracks on Morgan & Peace dollars, Franklin & Kennedy half dollars come to mind Which brings up my next question: How do you explain the doubling and/or errors on those types of coins with this explanation for the pennies? Your 1936-P is flatter than the 1968-S LOL Comment from : Will Beecher |
What is so strange is I have seen coins that look mechanical like the 1955-D and 1939-P but the are real DD Comment from : Will Beecher |
Love the 1936-P Type 1 DD Scored a BU on eBay The Type 1 Reminds me of 1969-S because of the locations of Doubling 1955-P is always awesome to see 1917-P DD on the wish list at decent grade The 1972-P is cool but 90 were found in mint bags so they will be found in MS condition most of the time I would collect MS66 or better on the 1972 Good luck to anyone who can find 1958-P DD IGWT, rarer that 1969-S and never talked about Only 2 found! Which tells me the Philadelphia mint caught the 1958 error and destroyed the others I would only pursue a MS69 1995-P DD since the MS68 are abundant and only worth $150?? I bought whole roll1995 BU DD way back for about $15 each and I know I am not the only one with a bunch ungraded 1995-P DD BU 1970-s LG DT DD IGWT very cool! The 1971 is cool double die Expensive one for the amount of doubling but I suppose it is rare especially I high grades I have 1971 DD that has silvery tone, doesn't look copper but weighs 3 grams?? Comment from : Will Beecher |
I have been kind of seeing if I can find this and with the differences and possible better insight I have some that double die I believe but such minor doubling and very difficult if can separate the differences I have 69s and think doubling but almost thought the die deteration but think it's doubling but not major as some Think have better insight Comment from : °^°/ |
