I love this flag When you're torching the wood, it's a great idea to torch both sides (face and rear) The reason for this is that you're drying out one side of the board, while leaving the other side with a higher moisture content, which could cause warping It may or may not even happen at all, but I think the extra time spent torching the back side of the stripes is just good insurance

Love this! I took a crack at building a few I’m having issues with the spray finish though I have a Husky syphon sprayer and I used semi gloss polyurethane diluted with mineral spirits The top and bottom stripe and the shelves never seem to get enough of the clear coat The raw/burned wood never seems to hold the finish well either Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
